Stardate: 50564.2 When the Dominion fleet comes through the wormhole, it soon becomes clear that Cardassia has allied itself with the Dominion and that war is not far off. As the forces of the Alpha Quadrant assemble, the changeling posing as Dr. Bashir is wrecking havoc on Deep Space Nine.

Following on from one of the seasons best episodes you could almost forgive this one if it wasn't quite as good, instead it's at least as good, possibly better :)

Most important development being the cardassians allying(sp?) with the dominion and the klingons allying themselves back with the federation. Sets things up very nicely indeed.

Wow.

I remember being astounded by the Cardassian revelation during this episode - it really came out of nowhere, yet in retrospect makes complete sense! It's nice to see the Dominion threat being pushed into the Alpha Quadrant, and as a result on to our playing field, as opposed to being just a problem restricted to the Gamma Quadrant. With the Klingons back on our side, one gets the feeling that there's going to be something huge coming...

The whole 'Worf fights' sub plot was a bit unnecessary though, and how convenient Garak saves them just as they're about to be killed... Still, Andy Robinson did well with protraying the claustrophobia :)

Superb

I'd've been quite happy to see the story from this episode spread out over two or three, there was enough going on, imo.

Loved all the stuff about Garak and his claustrophobia, although Worf's line about "it takes a brave man to beat it", oslt, was cringe-inducingly funny - it reminded me of the old photo-novel of The Devil In The Dark where there's a picture of Kirk watching Spock mind meld with the Horta with a thought bubble saying "He's got guts"

Liked Worf doing his Cool Hand Luke impression, too ("Stay down!"). I fully expect him to eat 50 boiled eggs for his next trick :ponder:

So peace with the Klingons again. Great to see Dukat finally get the power he's always craved, though. In terms of Trek as a whole it makes sense for the Cardassians to be the ones to make the treaty with The Dominion as they are the new kids on the block, so to speak :ponder:

Is it me, or does the helmet the Breen wear make them look like Princess Leia-as-bounty-hunter when she goes to rescue Han at Jabba's palace? And why are they named after a particularly shite footballer?

A bit disappointed that we didn't get a big battle at the end but the bluff was good

I think that's been pointed out on just about every Star Trek message board ever created!

The thing that cracks me up is that no one's supposedly seen what a Breen looks like inside their suits, yet, we've had Kira previously nicking one of their suits, what it was just lying around? And we've had a Breen in captivity, are we seriously expecting that the Dominion wouldn't have had a looksie?

I thought the Breen was going to turn out to be something interesting, then he/she/it goes and gets vapourised <_<

Quite funny, though :)

Apparently there's an old Romulan saying, "Never turn your back on a Breen". I guess the Jem'Hadar guards hadn't heard that one!
