For some reason I always thought it took more episodes to catch Eddington
Not a brilliant episode but watchable. Not sure how Sisko got away with attacking the Maquis planet though - legally speaking the end justified the means is not generally a successful defense.

I love this episode - one really gets the feeling Sisko will do anything to get Eddington, and he knows it's all his fault that Eddington escaped, and it shows - from his frustration when the Malinche gets to take over the job after the Defiant is effectively shut down, to his very very dodgy ploy to get Eddington to surrender.
And we get to see the brand new holocommunicators in this episode - which are subsequently forgotten about! (Doctor Bashir, I presume aside). They do seem a bit impractical - while they w**k for the bridge of the Defiant, with Sisko's swivel chair, how would it w**k on ships like the Enterprise or Voyager, who have an upper level behind the chair?

Wasn't particularly keen on this one. Oh look, there goes Sisko disobeying orders again
Having said that, I quite liked him in Captain Ahab mode but his eventual methods for getting Eddington were distinctly suspect and surely Starfleet Command would have taken him down a peg or two for that.
The holcommunicator looked pretty daft, too. I had to laugh at the way Eddington said he'd been able to steal one. Starfleet isn't too good at guarding its technology

I've always enjoyed this one. The Maquis, and Eddington have always been one of my favourite storylines throughout DS9, they're a completely different, and contemporary threat to the Federation.
I'd agree about Sisko's eventual methods for bringing Eddington in though, it's almost completely out of character. Perhaps Eddington just brings out the worst in him, he does seem to be particularly obsessive about capturing him for his betrayal of trust.
Nice to see Eric Pierpoint again though
