:yahoo:
Brilliant episode, arguably the best 'silly' episode Trek has ever done or ever will :)
Lovely little touches throughout the episode and I don't recall them putting a foot wrong.

There really isn't anything that needs to be said here - one of the best DS9 episodes; and indeed one of the best Trek episodes.
And they dealt with the TOS/TNG Klingon forehead mallarkey so much better than Enterprise
The only thing I did find out of place was the way Kirk leered at Sisko at the end - perhaps there's more to the Kirk/Spock slash than they let on? :)

 It is hilarious and very cleverly done

I'm just echoing what you all said. This is one of the best episodes of any trek series ever. The use of "Forrest Gump" technology to merge the two crews was hilarious. It was also full of nice touches, Dax remembering meeting Bones in a past life, and Worf's retelling of the "Great Tribble War" was sublime.

And how funny is it to see the DS9 crew in the old style uniforms :lmao:

Lovely episode, very cleverly done. I enjoyed the affection with which it treated the original, and the faithfulness of the sets and uniforms etc is a joy. I missed the original music in the bar fight scene, but I loved all the other touches. Also, the story manages to just about be more than an excuse, and as an anniversary tribute it worked very well
When all's said and done, though, as clever and engaging as it is, I'd still rather be watching the original, which is still the funniest Trek episode of all :)

I love the original episode, I'd agree it's possibly one of the funniest Treks out there, but ultimately I think T&T actually bettered it. With all that's going on with the Dominion at the time, this episode was a welcome respite not only for the DS9 gang, but probably the viewers as well. I thought they managed to capture the tone of the original series perfectly here, and to see the likes of Sisko, Dax, O'Brien, Bashir, Odo and Worf interacting with the likes of Kirk and Spock was an absolute joy
Besides;
Dax in a mini.......'nuf said..... :ph43r:

Well you know me well enough, James, to know that I won't agree
It probably didn't help that I was watching the original on Sci Fi the night before, as I told you elsewhere, and laughed from start to finish
I think they largely picked the best moments to include here, although I was disappointed that they didn't allow Dax at least a glimpse of Koloth :(
Also, they missed out my favourite line in all of Star Trek - "Who put the Tribbles in the Quadrotriticale?"
It might not seem funny on paper, but try saying it when you're pished

I think it's one of those rare occasions where you could probably watch one after the other and not be too disappointed anywhere through the duration.
I'd agree that not letting Dax at least glimpse Koloth was a little mean, but I'd have been more disappointed had Sisko not gotten to meet Kirk
I love the bit where O'Brien and co. are sitting in the bar and the group of TOS people comes in and O'Brien's convinced that one of them's Kirk, which it isn't of course. Seeing O'Brien in complete awe of this nobody is still amusing

That was a lovely moment
I was trying to remember which episode that's actually a clip from, because it's not from The Trouble With Tribbles. It's actually from Mirror, Mirror

 Yeah, that was hilarious. They should have followed that up with some comment or other after he's been chewed out by the "real" Kirk

Now compare and contrast T&T with Voyager's anniversary episode, Flashback, featuring Sulu
willowroolz - September 12, 2006 12:30 PM (GMT)
I can barely remember it
I'll let you know when my rewatch gets there :ph43r:
