Title: How Many Shows?
Description: At one time?

smellyphagor - August 17, 2005 11:24 PM (GMT)
So how many TV shows- I mean big US style culty type have to see every episode style shows do you people have on the go at the same time then?

For me, it is three tops, and I feel happier when it is one or two (or none). I have deceided not to get into programmes that I probably would quite like so I didn't have too much to watch (example-6 feet under). I hate that feeling when I've taped something and I need to watch it before the next week's programme comes on.

The flip side to this is that once I've started watching something It takes alot to make me stop watching it, even if I don't like it much- earlier this year, my three was Alias, Enterprise, and Doctor Who, and the only one I really liked was Doctor Who.

So, I'm curious,- how many of these things do you lot manage to keep track of?

I usually have one or two on the go. I find the american scheduling of new shows to be totally weird. Everything is on together, then nothing at all.

For example, Sci-Fi started the new series of Stargate, Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica at the same time. I'm watching Stargate and Atlantis at the moment, but saving BSG for the usual mid season break, even though I'm desperate to see what happens.

I think the most I've had is about 4 earlier this year, when I was downloading Alias, 24, Lost and Carnivale. Possibly the terrestrial showing of Desperate Housewives overlapped that too.

And its always a lot more to watch than that with all the various rewatches that are going on (of which i am all so behind on right now).

Bill The Bloodless - August 18, 2005 10:14 AM (GMT)
5 as well atm - Alias, Deadwood, Boston Legal, Lost and Wonderfalls. I was watching ReGenesis as well but I kept forgetting and it was only average anyway.

At the moment it's just Lost for me (and trying to catch up with the Alias rewatch). For a while there I was watching lots of shows at the same time (24, Alias, Desperate Housewives, Er, The OC) and it got pretty confusing

Looks like I'm in the normal sort of range then.

It does depend on scheduling though- good programmes do tend to cone in clumps, and then nothing.

Bill The Bloodless - August 18, 2005 08:41 PM (GMT)
Oh cr@p, I forgot House. So that's 6. And Carnivale next month as well.

And I keep thinking to myself there's nothing good on anymore. ;)

Fangy and grrr - August 18, 2005 10:21 PM (GMT)
Hmmm I have loads of shows on the go at the moment :ph43r: but ones that I would count as absolutely have to see every episode of would be

Deadwood
The Wire
The Shield
Alias
and now Lost.

Cardelia - August 18, 2005 10:37 PM (GMT)
At the moment it's just Lost and CSI, but once the new seasons start in September then it'll probably go up to 5.

grrrarrrgh - August 18, 2005 11:50 PM (GMT)
Just Lost and WAT for me at the mo, but once I get my hands on Alias 4 and 24 s2 (my sis has it, and is away!!!) thats doubled already :D I'm sort of glad I don't have Sky, for fear of never leaving the house :lmao:

Michelle - August 19, 2005 04:10 PM (GMT)
Well of the shows currently running (both on tv and for download), I'm only watching SFU, Lost and Nip/Tuck.

Well, Nip/Tuck has technically finished but I have about 7 on tape to catch up with. And I don't have to rigidly watch Lost cos I've seen it already, although it is nice to see it again from the start.

I think lots of things start next month in the US though, so I'm probably gonna be busy again soon. :fear:

Margot C - August 19, 2005 04:32 PM (GMT)
At the moment, the shows I have to watch every week are Alias, Lost, Six Feet Under and America's Next Top Model. But ANTM finishes this week, and Alias is nearly over too, thankfully. I'm forcing myself to watch Alias at the moment, I don't really enjoy it anymore so I'll be glad when it's finished.

OK, god, off the top of my head........The Dead Zone, Profiler, Lost, One Tree Hill, Without A Trace, Alias, Wonderfalls.... and there's probably a couple of others I've forgotten  It'll go up even more at the end of August when Grey's Anatomy starts as well :o

star_fury - September 21, 2005 02:06 PM (GMT)
Currently I watch too many and have cut out the simple life 3, JAG & She, spies from my viewing habits to watch The Pretender, DS 9, Carnivale , The Wire, Stargate Atlantas, Lost, The Shield, Hex, the Dead Zone, Grey's Anatomy, Deadwood and Roswell... While trying to squeeze in the odd episode from my DVD collection of the X Files, Farscape, and Battlestar Gallactica ....phew that's some heavy viewing!
