Title: The Wee Free Men: Terry Pratchett.
jamiearmour - August 12, 2005 10:52 PM (GMT)
I was forced to make an executive decision due to a tied vote on the poll.
And here it is. A thread all ready for the reading to commence on Monday. Anyone got any (non spoilery) first impressions of the book they want to post here?
little pixie - August 13, 2005 12:08 PM (GMT)
Hmm, non-spoilery.... :ponder:
I know it`s a childrens` book, but I think this is the first Discworld book with a child as the heroine ?
jamiearmour - August 13, 2005 08:48 PM (GMT)
It also involves a race of fairies who were thrown out of the fairy realm for being drunk and disorderly :lmao: That was taken from an online shop listing so can't be classified as a spoiler :whistling:

:ermm: I think there must be some kind of conspiracy where I live, I've checked two libraries so far and hunted in town this afternoon to no avail. I think I've found possibly every other book he's written except this one
If I use my book club it will probably take a month so I'm going to try a friend who I know has a lot of Pratchett as a last attempt to join in - wish me luck

 That would be great Jamie, I'll check with my friend first and then let you know.
There is definitely something odd going on down here, my local library has decided to get rid of all the different categories and is now - Fiction or Non Fiction, that's it.
W H Smiths have merged Sci fi/fantasy/horror/tv/film into one stand :o
and the Waterstones here have done something similar. Looks like I'll be ordering most books in future
I never ventured into Pratchett but having enjoyed the last one you recommended I'd like to read some more :)
jamiearmour - August 28, 2005 11:32 AM (GMT)
Well, I'll post off the "Death Trilogy" to you tomorrow then. Three of the best Discworld novels in one large tome, You'll love it. Especially "Reaper Man" otherwise knowm as "The one where Death gets the sack" :lmao:
