I got this from a friend who's on the Starfury mailing list:

OK, some good news for all those of you who missed out on the Edinburgh SERENITY Premiere and screenings!
Those nice chaps at Universal have arranged 4 more screenings accross the country, and tickets are onsale NOW (well, at least for 3 of them!).
On the 24th August, SERENITY will be screened at 4 locations accross the UK and Ireland.
In London it'll be screening at the Vue West End, situated in Leicester Square. Tel: 020 7 437 4343 Online booking: here
In Birmingham it'll be shown at the UGC, 161 Broad Street. Tel: 0870 907 0723 Online booking: here (20:30)
In Manchester it'll be screened at the filmworks, The Printworks, 6-8 Dantzic Street. Tel: 0871 22 44 007 Online booking: here (20:15)
And those of you in Ireland can catch it at the UGC Parnell Centre, Parnell Street, Dublin. Tickets for this screening go onsale on Wednesday. Tel: 00 353 1 872 8444 Online booking: here
This is not a rough cut or advance edit, it's the finished real deal product. |
I'm not sure how you'd go about booking preview tickets online - I've had a quick browse through the websites and only Manchester seems to be selling tickets to Serenity, so it might be a case of ringing up and booking for the other venues.

Hmm, I've just been informed that all 3 UK screenings sold out early this afternoon :( I don't know about the Irish one but if you haven't already got tickets, there's no point trying.

Tell me about it! I contacted the Vue West End this morning and they emailed me when the tickets went on sale. I spent the rest of the afternoon either trying to book via their website or on the phone to them.
The website couldn't handle the volume of people trying to book. When I phoned them they said they couldn't do the booking over the phone and gave me another website address which just redirected me back to the original site, plus they gave me another phone number which I rang repeatedly but nobody answered. When I rang the original number they told me to keep trying the website.
Sounds like they were totally unprepared for the demand. Very frustrating, but good luck to anyone who did manage to bag a ticket - b@stards
I'm not bitter, honestly :innocent:

The Edinburgh screenings sold out really fast too. Looks like I'll have to wait until it goes on general release to see it. Oh well, at least I'll have time for another rewatch before I see the film

I complained to them about their lack of organisation and got this reply:

I do apologise for any frustration caused.
It appears that there was some confusion over when these tickets would be available for sale. Unfortunately, when these did go on sale they sold out within minutes and therefore any persons who had been told an incorrect time had missed the opportunity to try and book these tickets. Please accept my sincere apologies for any frustration caused and be assured that your comments have been highlighted with our film buying department.
If you could please confirm your postal details I will arrange for complimentary tickets to be sent out for you to watch a film of your choice at our cinema.
Kind regards, Emma Cox Guest Services |
Won't be Serenity, though :(
