Again, unlike TNG's and Voyager's notorious 'To Be Continued' season finales, DS9 leaves us with a complete story, with ominous portents for the future.

The fact that Odo killed another Founder hasn't been forgotten, and is finally bought forward in the worst possible way, with the Founders torturing (through the virus) and finally turning him into a solid (although I wonder just what they did - presumably he is still a shapeshifter - just in the form of a human and without the ability to morph).

Garak gets some nice moments as well, firstly with his looking after Odo (gotta love his stories about just who he did and didn't kill :)) and the his confrontation with the founders - firstly the revelation that 'all the Cardassians died during the attack on the old Founders homeworld' and secondly when he tries to take the new homeworld out - I'm surprised how well he stood up to Worf :)

And then we have the revelation at the end - Gowron is a shapeshifter.....

You know, I remembered bits and pieces of this episode as it went along, but the final two big revelations caught me totally on the hop. I didn't remember The Link's judgement of Odo at all, bearing in mind this is roughly where I stopped following the series. Slightly gobsmacked and a little mystified as to how the Founders have this power to "create" a human being :ermm: :shrug:

And as for Gowron...

I'll be very interested as to how they deal with this. I hope they're not going to expect me to accept that he's been a Changeling all along, cos I'm telling you right now that I won't do it :snooty: :lol:
