Title: Speculation On Season 5

Krazy - July 26, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
This thread is a place where there won't be any spoilers just alot of thoughts and opinions what you think should or will happen in the next season of Smallville. :)

Well obviously i think that Chloe will either reveal or Clark will find out himelf that she knows about him. Which will probably lead to him finally telling Lana about himself. I'm thinking that Lex's character will take a very dark turn resulting in a huge fued with Clark. Lois will probably do something useful this season because to be honest, she didn't do much in the last. ;)

jamiearmour - July 26, 2005 10:05 PM (GMT)
I agree, Chloe will have to admit to what she knows. After seeing what she did in the cave in comencement, she's bound to "let it slip" that she knows about Clark. Don't know about Lana finding out though. She seems stupid enough to stay in the dark for a while :lmao:

Though what came out of the ship at the end of comencement? My money would be on it not being a good thing. Big slimey space aliens ahoy

Krazy - July 26, 2005 10:12 PM (GMT)
I've got a guy feeling Lana will find out because quite frankly i don't think that Clark can keep it in much longer. :)

jamiearmour - July 26, 2005 10:15 PM (GMT)
Nope, I'm still pretty sure that Lana's inherent density will mean Clark would have to fly in wearing full Superman costume and announce "By the way, I'm an alien" and she'd still reply "huh?" before getting even close to having a clue.

Speculation, huh? Well, let's hope none of this turns out spoilery then

Lois is going to be around much more, which is brilliant for the show in general

The spaceship that Lana found fills me with a kind of dread. I have very bad memories of what happened on Lois & Clark when the other Kryptonians turned up. I just hope, if that's the way it's going, that they make a much better job of it on Smallville. I'm sure they will.

I think season 5 will be the season where Lex turns to the dark side completely, and Clark and Chloe will become more of a team than they have been in the past, because as you've both said, he's bound to find out that she knows his secret.

I'll be interested to see how long they keep Clark in his Fortress of Solitude. I'm wondering if any amount of time will have been said to have passed between seasons, or if there's going to be some sort of arrangement where he can keep going back and forth to it. Should be good, however they do it :)

And, if it turns out to be the final season (which is what usually happens when Mr Marsters joins another show <_< ), I seriously hope they end it with Clark turning up for his first day at w**k at the Daily Planet

Krazy - July 27, 2005 02:04 PM (GMT)
I think Clark needs to start paying attention to Chloe more,Chloe seems like such a unimportant character most of the time. ;)
Lois maybe she'll do something useful though she won't be getting with Clark anytime soon. :)
Yes Clark leaving Smallville for Metro in the finale.

LoobiLou - July 27, 2005 02:05 PM (GMT)
When i watched the Superman show on BBC2 I always got the impression that Lois and Clark had never met before? Or am i wrong and i missed an episode or did the writers of Smallville decide to change the story?

Yeah, I think they realised she was being underused so they gave her the "discovery of Clark's powers" storyline in season 4. Long may it continue

You're not wrong ;)

Let's just say that the writers enjoy playing around with the myth quite a bit

Aaaah, ok

I use to love the original show, haven't seen it in years :(

Lex will totally change throughout Season 5, I think, and I think he will find out about Clark.

What do you think Lana saw at the end of 4? And do you think it will be important? :ponder:

I loved it, in the first two seasons at least :)

It was a spaceship, I'm sure. Whatever it was began to open as she looked at it, so I'm pretty certain it's going to be very important :ponder:

It was wrong of the writers to mess with the myth by making Lois and Clark meet so soon.

ant - July 27, 2005 02:19 PM (GMT)
I knew what's in the ship!!! Sorry not going to say anything... honest. :shifty:

Lex and Clark having a huge fight in the finale would make sense.

Well since we know that they go on to become arch enemies i think that's pretty much a given at some point ;)

May I just ask why?

It may have escaped your notice, but there is very little in Smallville that actually sticks to the established Superman mythos. At the age Clark is now (in Smallville years) he didn't even have most of his powers. (Superboy is from an alternate reality not the established DC prime reality, just so noone nitpicks  ) The writers on Smallville are creating a brand new version, not sticking with established stories, that has worked well in this instance (IMO anyway)

The actual story goes as follows.... Clark graduates from Smallville high. Has a brief romantic fling with Lana Lang, reveals his secret to Lana. Then he goes off to Kansas state University where he meets and falls for Lori Lemaris (I'm seeing a pattern forming here  ) who turns out to be a mermaid. Then Clark decides to travel the world for a few years, spending a great deal of time in Tibet. Then he returned to the US, gets a job at the Daily planet meets Lois Lane who has been a reporter at the Planet for several years (she's supposed to be approximately 3 years older than Clark). He gets the job and slowly (over the span of 60 years our time) gets Lois to fall in love with him and get married.

As for how things will develop in Smallville? Well, that's the fun of this show, you never know which tenet they're going to rewrite next

So please Krazy, don't judge the writers for trying to put a new spin on an old idea.

I just would have liked Smallville to stick with the actual superman myth but seeing as there have been so many versions, i don't know which one.

Though Smallville isn't Superman so.......... ;)

Yes Clark and Lex don't be the best of friends in the future of SUperman but could Smallville tell us a different story. <_<

jamiearmour - July 27, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
That I think, will be the one tenet that they won't have free reign to play with. Clark and Lex will have to become enemies. From the darker side Lex has been showing recently in Smallville, I don't think it's going to be too long till the animosity becomes irreperable.

Krazy - July 27, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
Ahhh yes Lex has turned bad, a very good sly heel he is so yeah i think with him he's definitely going to do something very bad that will upset Clark.
Maybe he'll kidnap Lana in a attempt to lure Clark into his deadly battle filed, no forget that idea. ;)

I think he's just going to be Lex, and try to either take over or destroy the world

Typical bald guy, overcompensating :lmao:

I hope you have hair yourself on your head. :lmao: :whistling:

Though it's expected that Lex will indeed try taking over the world hopefully killing Lois in the process. :whistling: :ph43r: I shouldn't think hopefully. :ermm:

Knowing Smallville they'll proberly bring Lori Lemaris into the series next season. ;)
