Sort of episode that's important to the shows storyline but not especially good to watch.

The main development is Sisko starting to come to terms with being the emmisary, just a shame it takes 40 minutes to tell us this.

When glancing over this weekd episodes, I was expecting to find this a really bad one, and rather dull.

In reality it surprised me by being a lot better then I expected! Obviously Sisko needed a story to remind him just how important being the Emissary is (although I can imagine him sitting with Dax and weighing up whether fighting to be the Emissary is worht it, given the number of blessings and ceremonies he'll be obliged to undertake.

Still, it's interesting to look at the story conclusion from everyone else's point of view - as far as they know, Sisko and Akorem go into the wormhole together, and only Sisko comes out, saying 'the Prophets chose me!' Maybe the Bajorans would believe it given their faith, but how many other people were thinking 'hmm - something ain't right here...' :)

I quite enjoyed this one. Sisko has spent so much time complaining about the things he is expected to do as Emissary, even finding a way not to be on the station during one of the Bajoran festivals in a recent episode, that it's good to finally see him coming to terms with it and seeing how important it is to him.

Having said that, Phillip's point is spot on

Oh, and I liked Kira's sculpture as well

And Keiko's back. Yay? :ermm:

Almost forgot: LMFAO at Worf's reaction when Bashir tells him Keiko's having another baby - "NOW?!!" :lmao: Nice inter-series continuity

Which reminds me of something else I've kept meaning to mention: Kasidy Yates keeps mentioning that her brother plays baseball on Cestus 3. Now, assuming I've got the spelling right, isn't that the same planet that was under attack when Kirk and co first encountered the Gorn in Arena? <<Runs off to check>> Yes it was
