The Wire S2 starts this wednesday 27th July @ 10:00pm on FX ( Channel 270 ).

I know not many people on the board watched S1 ( who am I kidding I think there were about two of us ;) ) but you really missed out imo as it was one of the best written, best acted, smartest and most addictive US dramas I've seen in years. No doubt in my mind it is up there with the likes of TWW, The Shield, Carnivale, Deadwood, SFU, The Sopranos and any other top show you want to mention.

I don't know how easy it will be to watch S2 if you haven't seen S1 but I'd say give it a chance as if its anywhere near as good as S1 then you'll be in for a treat.

Sorry if I sounded a bit evangelical there but in case you didn't get it, I quite like the show. ;)

I've really enjoyed the Wire S2 so far & it is probably my favourite none sci-fi/Cult TV currently on telly!

It should be noted that it's now on Tuesdays at 10pm plus repeats on midnight on Wednesday night/Thursday morning and again on Sunday morning at around 2 am plus repeats on FX + two hours later than the Times specified above.

I'm not sure if it's quite as good as last season, although still very good, because a lot of time has had to go into the new storylines and introducing new characters. I like how they have kept the original Barksdale crew storyline threads running and I have no doubt that everything will tie together either later in the season or in later seasons.

I've loved S2  I'm a bit undecided as to whether its as good as S1 as well, it took a bit of getting used to after moving from the projects to the docks but by the second episode I was hooked again and as you say the way they kept the Barksdale crew's storylines running alongside the new ones was excellent.

Poor old Prez this week :( couldn't believe him decking Valcheck. :o  Only two episodes left.

Hey btw Star_Fury :hibye: you disappeared for a while there.
