With Adama out of action, Colonel Tigh takes his position as commander of the Galactica. Boomer is in jail, and the cat's out of the bag - she's a Cylon.

Just how in the hell can this series keep getting better!

Continuing directly on from last years cliffhanger. This was superb from start to finish, real edge of the seat stuff.

After the high-octane end to last year I'd feared this one may not live up to it's potential. Glad to say that such concerns are unfounded

Another cracker !! Next week's looks good an' all.

My expectations were probably unduly high after my rewatch last weekend, but I have to say this ep just about lived up to them. I'm really glad they dealt with what would happen should Galactica get separated from the fleet, and it produced a really exciting conclusion with another amazing battle sequence.

I'm not sure that this episode advanced the story much, if at all, but as a restatement of the series' intent it was top class. It's really Tigh's episode, this one, and Michael Hogan does a fantastic job. His hair was a bit dodgy in the flashbacks, though

Not enough Baltar and Starbuck, but I'm sure they'll get more than their fair share to do over the coming weeks. I liked the scenes on Kobol, which produced a kind of Vietnam-esque feel. And that ending :fear:

Great start to the season

Thank you my children. If I hadn't seen this thread I wouldn't have realised that S2 was <ahem> available.

Excellent start to the season. I'd forgotten how many aspects to this there were. I can't remember anything with so many threads ans strands since B5.

As you have all already said, fantastic start to the new series

Recorded last night, watched this morning. A big wow! Terrific stuff again... desperate for episode 2 now.

Have been eagerly waiting for season 2, with more excitement than for any new season since the ends of Buffy and Angel. And it more than delivered. In season 1, the show seemed to get better and better with each passing episode. Surely this trend can't keep going on throughout this season as well?

A big, big  .

Andrew :yahoo:

Don't think you're going to be disappointed with any drop in quality Andrew

It was f*ckin, sorry, frakin' excellent.

It just keeps developing both in terms of storyline and overall plot and character relationships. It really is one of the best shows I've seen in a long time.

I just wish sci-fi wasn't so derided all the time, then more people I know would watch it. As it is, I only know of one friend of mine that has seen it.

Is S2 available on dvd now by the way?
I cant be arsed waiting to see it on SkyOne.

The first half of S2 (eps 1-10) is available on R1, the second half of the season has only just come back in the States this week. So you may as well continue watching it on Sky as you won't see the end any quicker. :)

Yep, 20 episodes this year.

This episode was fan-bloody-tastic.

Well worth the long (oooh so very long and arduous) wait.

Like everyone else, I can't wait to see the next episode.

Spoiler. for anyone who missed it coming up.

Holy shit. There are real, honest to God, genuine Cylons aboard the Galactica :fear:  :fear: :fear:

Excellent. I suppose that shows the support the network(s) are putting behind it then.

Apologies if this has been said before, but a quick scan of the credits the other night, showed the character of Hotdog is played by a chap called Bodie Olmos.
A relation I would imagine. :ponder:

We had to watch the 'previously on...' three times just to remember what happened

Brilliant, brilliant episode, I was shitting it for so much of programme.

I can't believe Boomer (Caprica) ran off with the Cylon Raider <_< Those guys just can't get a break

"Bitch stole my ride"

Phillip Culley - January 16, 2006 11:27 PM (GMT)
Bloody fantastic :)

I think the only thing I felt was to it's detriment was the whole bit on Caprica - while it had the lovely 'bitch stole my ride' line, overall it felt a bit surplus to requirements, and could have been snipped out and possibly held over to the next episode...

Although, of course, I have no idea what happens next so I could be speculating over nothing :)

star_fury - January 23, 2006 02:17 PM (GMT)
After all of this waiting I tuned into the first episode, recorded it, sat back to watch it later and after a few minutes decided that the sky logo and the thought of adverts was going to ruin it for me. That and a seemingly poor picture that annoyed the hell out of me. So I did what I said I wouldn't and have ordered BSG season 2.0 and will have to wait until season 2.5 to see further episodes. My copy arrived last Tuesday and all I can say is...

WOW !!! :o   what an episode!!!

I loved it from beginning to end in particular the flashbacks of Colonel Tigh and Commander Adama amongst everything else that was great, of course. :)

For those interested there is nearly a quarter of an hour of Deleted scenes on the DVD for this episode including many more flashbacks that in my humble opinion were only cut for time. I wouldn't be surprised if a few years down the line director's cut DVDs of BSG hit the shelves with longer cuts. :)
