Subtitled

In this sly and subdued drama from writer/director Bart Freundlich, Julianne Moore and ER's Noah Wyle star as grown-up siblings who return to their New England home for the traditional Thanksgiving dinner and the almost inevitable airing of family grudges, secrets and emotions. Blythe Danner and Roy Scheider stand out as the overwrought parents, but what is most attractive about the film is that it offers no jaw-dropping revelations or happy-ever-after resolutions. Instead, Freundlich (who is Moore's real-life husband) allows us to draw our own conclusions about the fates of the characters we've met.

Directed by: Bart Freundlich
Filmed in: 1996

I'm surprised i've never hear of this before, it sounds like something I would watch and the fact MV is in it means I'm definitely setting up the video tonight.

It`s one of my favourite films - I`ve got in on DVD and will be watching it on TV anyway ! Even if it didn`t have MV ( ) in it, I`d love the film - it`s so well observed and the acting ( from everyone ) is superb - especially from Julianne Moore and Hope Davis, who`s one of my fav. indie actresses.

Yay-For-Me - July 16, 2005 12:43 PM (GMT)

Amazon - The Myth Of Fingerprints DVD

I can only find the film available from one place - Amazon - and it`s a Region 1 DVD...

Clicky thing above, if anyone wants it. Be warned, it`s arthouse, so no car chases. ;)
