Here I am again, pimping comic books that I feel arent' being promoted enough.

This week, the book is: The Fantastic Four.

The original series, not "Ultimate" series.

As of last month, it's being written by J M Straczynski. One of the current best writers in comics (and out of comics) father of Babylon 5, and all round nice guy.

He's brought the core values back to this series, the importance of the subtitle "Marvel's first FAMILY". The book is about the characters again, Reed and Sue, Johhny and Ben. How they interact, how they deal with day to day things. The Unusual and super powered menaces? They're easy to deal with. But just how do you deal with a New York Social w**k official who is going to decide if "trouble central" is a safe environment for you to bring up your two children (Especially when your son willingly tells her that he has just come back from hell where he was held prisoner by daddy's oldest enemy :rolleyes: )

How do you explain to the IRS that you don't have any receipts for childcare, because your baby sitters are the Inhumans who live in an atmosphere controlled dome on the moon?

How do you react when the US government want's to deliberately recreate the accident that gave them their powers, in order to create a team of super powered soldiers?

All difficult situations, and all brought up in JMS's first two issues on the book.

Oh yeah, and Ben has just found out that he's a multi Billionaire He photocopied his bare and rocky backside and sent a copy to Bill Gates :lmao: Who thought it was a picture of the Grand Canyon, taken from space :lol: :lol:

All in all, the book has made more steps forward in the past two months than it has in the past few years. Due in no small part to the writing.

If you get the chance, pick it up. I'm sure you'll find something in there to enjoy.

Already getting it - written by JMS is more than enough recommendation for me :thumbsup:
