Title: Hackers

Eldred - July 11, 2005 10:16 AM (GMT)
I learnt of this potential danger only a few days ago, I was brousing another message board and read that the site had been targeted by hackers several times. I have just this morning found that another message board I visit has succumbed to a hacker, (calls himself Satan) and is closed off.
What sort of protection do we have against hackers and how much damage can they do?

None whatsoever, that is all down to Invisionfree, we just rent the space from them. However, if there was a hacker/cracker problem on their server i'm sure that there would have been an announcement made :)

If "Satan" does try anything here, I'd open a can of unholy whoop ass on him.

All hackers should be shot.

Oh wait, I've just cracked the last codes on my banks mainframe, be back soon to continue my rant.

:lmao:

LOL@jamie

Thanks Loobilou for the reassurance. I got the impression from what I read that the hacker had joined the board in question and done the dirty from there, though I could have misunderstood. I should have taken notes, because I don't remember which board it was.

Anyone can join a messageboard and hack it.

The best advice for anyone who has access to the admin panel, especially the main admin, is to make sure you change your password on a regular basis and use a mixture of small letter, capital letters and numbers.
