Giles Voiceover : Previously On Buffy The Vampire Slayer...

Dawn : [Grins] Ooh maybe we could visit Angel.

Buffy : I'm not sure we can trust him anymore, not since he started to w**k for Wolfram & Hart.

Dawn : And this would be a great time to go and find out if he's evil or not. I mean he did go to Sunnydale to give you that amulet and file.

[The doors open, and Buffy and Dawn look around to see who is there. The Scoobies walk out. Wood being supported by Faith. Willow and Kennedy walking together, the slayers walking behind them, and Xander, Giles and Andrew walking behind the slayers. Buffy and Dawn stand up and walk over to the others. The walk out of the parking lot and towards the bus. Instead of getting on it they watch as the sun sets in Los Angeles.]

[START OF EPISODE]

[Buffy and her gang walk down a street. Xander, Dawn and Buffy are walking together.]

Dawn [Sighs] : Are we there yet?

Buffy : I think so.

Dawn : How long's I think so?

Buffy : Only about a few more hours.

Dawn : What?!

Buffy : Only kidding. Only like half an hour.

[Xander looks at Buffy and then gets distracted as an attractive blond walks past on the opposite side of the street. She turns her face to look behind, Xander chokes.]

Buffy : What is it?

Xander : Anya.

Buffy : What? [Turns to look at where Xander was looking.]

[The blond has walked past and round the corner.]

Xander [Shrugs] : Or maybe it was my imagination.

[Cut to the back of the gang, Willow is walking with Kennedy]

Kennedy : Where are we going?

Willow : Wolfram & Hart.

Kennedy : Where?

Willow : Y'know the giant law firm.

Kennedy : Oh. Why are we going there?

Willow : To look up an old friend.

[Birdseye view of the gang walking along the road, light floods the corner of the street, the gang hurry to see what it is. The are confronted by a giant building with a sign outside WOLFRAM & HART ATTORNEYS AT LAW.]

Xander : Okay I've said this before and I'll say it again. Shpadoinkle!

[Act 1]

[Buffy and co. are clearly intimidated by the size of the building, but to Buffy size doesn't matter. She walks up toward the building, the rest of the gang follow, watching for signs that demons will jump out and attack at anytime. Buffy waits for the gang to catch her up and then she wastes no time in pushing the doors open. She walks inside and finds herself even more intimidated.]

Xander : It looks like Angel got his money's worth.

Buffy [Looks around for stairs or an elevator] He didn't buy it. He got given it.

Xander : He got given Hell Incorporated?

Willow : He didn't have to take it.

Buffy : But he chose to. [Looks around for a desk and finds one to the left of where they came in] Excuse me?!

Secretary : How may I help you?

Buffy : I'm looking for Angel.

Secretary : And would you be looking for his office, department or his apartment?

Buffy [Shocked] : He has all of those things? In this one thing?

Secretary [Nods] : So what will it be?

Buffy : Well where would he be round about now?

Secretary : Right now he's in Ms. Burkle's lab, along with Mr. Gunn and Mr. Pryce.

Buffy : And that would be where?

Secretary [Points to elevator] Get in and I'll send you there.

[Buffy shrugs and glances at the gang, she walks over to it and steps inside, resting the scythe on the side of the elevator. The rest of the gang walk over to it and look at Buffy.]

Dawn : Um. Buffy, we're not all gonna fit in there.

Secretary [Shouts] : I'm sure you will all fit fine.

[Dawn steps in first and then Xander and Willow, the others step in one by one and as the Secretary had said, they all fit. The doors closed.]

Tannoy : Going Up.

Faith : Seems like Angel got the best present in the whole damn world.

Xander [Nods] : Yeah. Apart from where he is sitting in an office of Hell Incorporated everyday or where everyone thinks he has gone evil, again.

Buffy : We don't know what to exp- [The doors open, Buffy picks up the scythe and everyone steps out into a lab. Test tubes and lots of hi tech equipment are on desks. The elevator goes back down. Laughter fills the room.]

Gunn : And the vamp's like "what the hell are you gonna do?" and then Angel pulls out a crossbow and before the vamp can do anything, he's dust. [Fred and Gunn laugh, Wesley smiles and Angel looks miserable.]

Buffy [Clears throat] : Hey. Miss us?

[Angel, Gunn, Fred and Wesley look up and see that a group have entered the room. Buffy continues to look at Angel. Wesley smiles and Fred and Gunn walk over to the gang. Angel shifts in his seat.]

Gunn : It's so good to see so many people I've never met before. [Smiles]

Andrew : [Steps forward] Allow me to do introductions.

[Buffy and Dawn exchange glances. Lorne steps out of the elevator.]

Lorne : Sorry I'm so late, I had to read the aura of a Glarsh Juch demon downstairs, he stole my dollar.]

Wesley [Nods at Buffy and co.] : You're just in time for introductions.

Andrew : [Points at Buffy] This is Buffy. Slayer extraordinaire, she died twice but still continues fighting for side of good. [Points at Willow] Willow. Wiccan queen who uses magicks on the side of good. She went over to the dark side for a while, but now she's back. [Points at Xander] That's Xander. Although he may be eyeless he still continues to see what others do not. [Points at Giles] Giles, watcher of the Vampyr slayer Buffy Summers, although not currently w**king for the Watcher's Council he continues to watch over Vampyr slayers everywhere. [Points at Dawn] Dawn, used to be a magical glowy key thing and now a typical American teenager. [Points at Faith] Faith, the rogue slayer, who also went over to the darkside, but found redemption here in Los Angeles. [Points at Wood] Robin Wood, son of the Vampyr slayer Nikki, watcher Bernard Crowley, his mother may be dead, but he continues to fight the forces of darkness. [Points at the slayers] And they're other Vampyr slayers.

[Gunn steps forward and shakes everyone's hand, Fred tries a different approach and hugs, Wesley also shakes hands.]

Andrew : And I'm Andrew, you're humble host.

Angel : Hi.

Gunn : [Off Angel's look.] And I'll do introductions for us. That's Angel, he once won the World Brooding Contest 2001. Fred Burkle Laboratory brainiac. [Fred blushes] Wesley is the book guy. Lorne is the aura reader and me, well I'm just no one. [Sits down on a desk.]

Xander [Looks around the room] : Where's Cordy?

Angel [Looks up at Xander] : What?

Xander : Cordy. She works with you, right?

Angel [Stands and looks down at the floor] : Cordy's in a coma.

[Cut to Los Angeles Hospital, night. Cordelia is lying on the bed, looking peaceful. Her hair longer than it had been, Xander sits on a chair next to bed, holding her hand. Willow, Angel and Buffy stand around the bed.]

Willow : What happened?

Angel : The year before last Cordelia got sent to a higher plain, by the Powers. Then last year Cordelia came back from the plain and didn't know who she was. Lorne did a spell and then Cordelia got back her memories, and also turned evil, but we didn't notice the evil until it was too late. Anyway she slept with... um a demon, but she thought he was just a guy-

Xander [Looks up at Willow] : So I'm not the only one who attracts demons. [Off everyone's looks] Sorry, wrong time.

Angel : And she got pregnant, she gave birth. After the Birth Giving she went into a coma, in which she stayed.

Buffy [Worried] : What did she give birth to?

Angel : Don't worry Jasmine, the Power That Was, got killed a long while ago by it's father.

Buffy [Confused] : Okay...

Angel : Maybe we should go.

Buffy : I concur. I'm getting kinda wiggy. Just seeing her lying there, not moving. I keep expecting her to wake up and make a bitchy comment about my shoes or something.

Angel : That's who she was in Sunnydale, she changed.

Xander [Stands up] : Shall we go?

[Everyone leaves the hospital room.]

[Cut to Wolfram & Hart, night. Buffy, Angel, Willow and Xander have returned.]

Wesley : Would you like a drink? I could call down for some.

Buffy : Yeah okay.

[The others nod.]

Dawn : Do you want me to get it?

Wesley : It's really your call.

Dawn [Walks back into the elevator] : Which floor is it?

Wesley : 5th.

Dawn : Got it! [The doors close, sound of elevator moving.]

Buffy : Will you excuse me for a minute? [Walks out of the room.]

[Cut to outside the room, Buffy finds Angel leaning against a glass wall. Buffy goes and joins him.]

Buffy : Hey. [Angel looks down at the floor.] Hello? Bonjour. [Waves hand in front of Angel's face.]

Angel : Hey.

Buffy : You looked like you were lost in thought there. Whatcha thinking about?

Angel : Is that you business.

Buffy [Taken aback] : Sorry. I was just asking.

Angel : Can we take the talk out of the hall? [Gestures toward an empty office.]

Buffy : Sure. [Walks into the office and sits in a big leather chair.]

[Cut to 5th floor. Dawn is at the coffee machine, she pours coffee into the last cup and then she attempts to pick up the mugs. A guy wearing a lab coat walks over to her.]

Guy : Hey, can I help you?

Dawn : Uh, sure. [Picks up four mugs of coffee.]

Guy : You're not planning to drink all these yourself are you?

Dawn [Starts to walk out of the room, but walks onto a blond woman's foot.]

Woman [Without looking back] : Hey! Watch it.

Dawn [Calls back.] : Sorry. And not me the gang.

Guy [Picks up the other mugs and starts to walk after her.] : You have a gang?

Dawn : Not mine, my sisters.

Guy [Nods] : So where you headed?

Dawn : Um Ms. Burkle's lab.

Guy : I was heading there myself.

Dawn : I kinda figured, what with the clothing and all.

Guy : Sorry I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Knox.

Dawn : Dawn. [They step into the elevator.]

[Fade To Black] [End Of Act 1]

[Act 2]

[Cut to Office, sun shines through the windows. Buffy continues to sit in the black leather chair, Angel stands leaning with his hands on the side of a desk.]

Buffy : So what were you thinking about?

Angel : Spike.

Buffy [Shocked] : You were thinking about Spike?

Angel : Not really about him. Just about the thing where if he's not here then that means he either left without you or he's dead.

Buffy : He's dead. He wore that amulet thing that you brought and sunlight came out of it and whoosh he was dead. Well not really whoosh more like talking then whoosh.

Angel : That could have been me.

Buffy : Yeah. Maybe you should have worn it. [Angel frowns.] I was kidding.

Angel : Why are you here, Buffy?

Buffy : To see.

Angel [Confused] : To see what?

Buffy : You. What this place had done to you, whether you were evil.

Angel : And what do you think so far?

Buffy : Not evil, yet. Why'd you take this place, Angel?

Angel : We're doing good here, Buffy. Fighting evil. Using Wolfram & Hart's resources and weapons to fight that evil.

Buffy : You may be doing good here, now. But what if you...

Angel : If I lose my soul, again? [Buffy nods] Then we'll call Willow and she can re-ensoul me. [Grins]

Buffy : It's not a joke.

Angel : What happened?

Buffy [Confused] : What happened when?

Angel : In the Hellmouth. You did go down there, right?

Buffy : Yes. Nothing happened as such. Big battle, magick spell, army of Vampire Slayers, a vampire with an amulet, sunlight, speaking, and death.

Angel : Thanks for the summary.

Buffy : You're welcome.

Fred [Shouts] : Angel it's for you.

[Angel and Buffy stand and walk out of the office, back to the lab. Knox hands Angel the phone. Wesley sips his drink.]

Angel : Hello.

Speaker [Muffled] : There's a demon rampaging at the city limits.

Angel : What kind of demon is it?

Speaker [Muffled] : S'Wok Tope.

Angel : Thanks. [Puts the receiver down and looks at Buffy.]

Buffy : Trouble?

Angel : Trouble.

Buffy : Need Help?

Angel : Help needed.

Buffy : Faith wanna come? [Faith nods.] Right Faith, Rona, Vi, Kennedy, Chao Ahn, Haidey, Kathryn, Serena and I'll come. [Turns to face Angel] Do you have weapons?

Angel : Where would an evil fighter be without them? But do you need a weapon? I mean you got that axe thing.

Buffy : I'm cool. Just the others need stuff.

Angel : [Looks at the other vampire slayers] Follow me.

[Cut to Angel's office, night. Angel is standing in front of a wall, swords and knives decorate it. He picks up a red samurai style sword, unsheaths it and hands it Rona.]

Rona [Swings the sword] : Thanks.

Kennedy [Puts hands up when Angel hands her a sword] : I was looking for something in the crossbow variety.

Angel [Hands the sword to Faith] : Uh sure. [Hands Vi and Chao Ahn swords and Kathryn a knife. He walks around to a cabinet and opens the doors, he pulls out a crossbow and throws it to Kennedy, she catches it. He then throws stakes to Serena and Haidey and closes the doors. He picks up his sword that was leaning against his desk.]

Buffy : Let's do this. [There's a knock on the door and Wesley walks inside.]

Angel : What is it, Wes?

Wesley : I was just wondering what we were supposed to do while you go fight the demon?

Angel : Research it or something.

Wesley : Okay research, and look for what?

Angel : How about looking for what it's here for?

[Wesley walks outside and closes the door.]

Angel : Let's do this. [He, Buffy and Faith walk out of the office door, the other slayers follow.]

[Cut to Wesley's department, He, Giles, Andrew and Dawn are researching the demon using books. Xander, Fred and Willow use computers. Lorne and Gunn stand around. Wood sits in a chair.]

Wesley [Closes book] : Has anyone found anything, at all?

Dawn [Also closes book] : How about a big fat nothing?

Willow [Presses the power button on his computer and the screen goes black] : My search has also been inconclusive.

Andrew : Does this mean that Angel and the Vampyr slayers have gone out to face some unknown demon?

Giles [Closes his book] : Potentially. But Buffy can cope, she has eight other slayers and a very old vampire.

Xander : Yeah what could go wrong?

[Cut to a dark alley, night. It has started to rain. From a birdseye view we see a trash can roll over. Zoom into Faith, she jumps and kicks the demon in the face. Buffy swings the scythe but gets knocked off her feet by Angel, they look into each others eyes, he gets up.]

Buffy [Semi-Shouting] : What did you do that for?

Angel : I was helping. You would have landed on that trash can [Points to the rolling trash can] if you had finished that move. [Pulls Buffy up.]

Buffy : Thanks. [Runs back into the fray. The demon has two mouths and six eyes, it has a long nose and fangs. Buffy swings the scythe again and the demon grabs the middle of it, he twists it around and Buffy lets go, the demon pushes Buffy down, and throws the scythe away. Haidey swings her sword, lets out a battle cry and elbows the demon. It grabs her head from behind and throws her against the wall. She lands in a heap on the floor, a puddle of blood and water gathers around her head. Buffy runs and picks up the scythe, Angel goes to see Haidey. Buffy swings the sword and the demon's head rolls to the floor.]

Buffy [Runs to Haidey's side. Shouts] : What is it? What's wrong?

Angel [Thunder roars] : Buffy, she's dead.

[Fade To Black.] [End Of Act 2]

[Act 3]

Vi [Crouches down beside Buffy and finds Haidey's pulse] : But she can't be.

Angel : I felt her pulse, she is dead.

[Tears fall down the slayer's cheeks. Buffy picks up the body and puts it over her shoulder, Angel picks up the scythe. They make their way back to Wolfram & Hart.]

[Cut to Wolfram & Hart, later. Buffy and Co. walk in through the doors, they get in the elevator and go to Wesley's department. They step out of the elevator.]

Dawn : Buffy? What happened?

Buffy [Drops Haidey to the floor.] : She's dead.

Xander : The S'Wok Tope demon...

Buffy : Threw her against a wall.

Willow : Poor kid.

Buffy [Turns to face Angel] : Can you get this taken care of?

Angel : Sure. I'll make sure she gets buried. [Hands Buffy the scythe. Walks over to the phone and dials.]

Speaker : Hello?

Angel : Hey, can someone come up to Wes' department, I have a body. No investigation necessary. It was a S'Wok Tope demon.

Speaker : Someone will be there shortly.

[Angel hangs up the reciever]

Buffy : I'm thinking I wanna get the hell out of America.

Angel : The exciting life here at Wolfram & Hart too much for you?

Buffy : Not that. You've got America covered.

Giles : I agree. We should get out of America.

Angel : When are you going?

Buffy : Tomorrow.

Giles : Then we're decided. Anyone else not agree with the plan?

[No one raises a hand.]

Rona : Uh, guys. Where's Kathryn?

[Cut to a dark crypt. Some vampires are gathered around a chair in the middle of the room, chanting.]

Woman : Now my child what do you want to do tomorrow?

[Pan around to face another woman sitting in front of the throne, she is vamped out. We see that it's Kathryn.]

Kathryn : I wanna kill the slayer.

[Fade To Black]
