Hey folks, Harry here with a tidbit for all you Galactica fans. Now, just cuz Glen Larson wants it to be on a timescale of 12-18 months, doesn't mean that'll happen - but... it's nice to see that it may end up in the pipeline... eh? Harry,
This past weekend, Glen A. Larson appeared at the London Film & Comic Con. Anyway, one of the members of our site (Cylon.Org) went along and asked the Father/Creator the question if you're a fan of the classic Battlestar Galactica: "Is there going to be a movie?"
The answer is yes, and he's looking at a timescale of making it in 12-18 months and he's currently going over scripts for the film.
Best,
Peter Noble (co-owner Cylon.Org)

Hey all
My first post here, I've been lurking for a while and decieded to finally take the plunge, so please be nice :)
If you ask me its way too soon for a BSG movie maybe after 3 or 4 seasons. At least that way BSG would be well and truly established and hopefully would get the backing it deserves.
BTW is there any news on a R1 DVD s1 set yet?

Hi mac :hibye:
I'm not sure that this film has anything to do with the current series. I have a feeling it's based more directly on the original BSG.
Not sure about R1 but the R2 BSG S1 set has been out for a while now

 Hi mac
Yes, I believe it is based on the original, I think there have been lots of arguments about it going back and forth as to who owns the rights to the franchise.
I didn't actually see Glen and the Comic Con just his security

Re the R1 DVDs, Best Buy stores will have the sets from July 26 @ $49.99. General retail release takes place a couple of months later on September 20th.

a film based on the original series huh well I can't see that being sucessful at all. Does that mean going back to 70's/80's disco stylee with a huge slice of camp? :lmao: the TV series is only going to look even better! surely you can't have 2 separate BSG's at the same time as it will confuse people, right?
Thanks Crichton Kicks, are there gonna be more extras on the R1?

Difficult to say at the moment. The Best Buy sets are apparently being advertised as the 'UK version', which would tend to suggest an identical release with the same lack of any extras.
I'd have thought that audio commentaries would have being included given that Sci-Fi run a number of Podcasts when the episodes were airing.
