Title: DR WHO THE MOVIE

Does a new TV series spell the end of a film?

The Doctor Who film is still in development. We checked with BBC Films and the new TV series has not impacted on the production of the film.

So we can confirm that the BBC is developing a film, but it should be stressed the project is still in its very 'early' stages.

The above was taken off the BBC official website today - a new movie in my opinion will be great providing whoever makes it is willing to spend money on it!

Personally, I see it as saying they're still interested in a movie; just as a back-up in case the Eccleston series fails. :)

Or if the series is a hit, they can use the series actors in the film to give it a new dimension. Like having a 2 hour pilot show, so maybe a bit TV movielike. What do you reckon?

It's a possibility :)

I suppose we'll have to see what happens come 2005 :D

Do you think I'm too optimistic?

Not at all - it's nice to see some people still being optimistic - sadly a lot of my optimism dropped when I heard about Billie Piper :(

As long as I can get over the fact it's that teenage chart polluter as the companion, I'll be optimistic. Which won't happen for a long time...

ROFL

I'm sure she'll be fine. Maybe she'll be left behind on one of the expeditions and the Tardis jams the transmission so that the Doctor can't rescue her. ;)

I thought she was OK on that Canterbury Tales thing a while ago. Howver bad she is she can't be as bad as Bonnie Langford.

She can travel way back in time to when her husband had a popular breakfast show
