This takes place late Season 2.....

*RPG-PART 1*

Buffy the Vampire Slayer wandered slowly through the cemetary.A lot had been on her mind lately- her vampire-with-a-soul boyfriend had lost his soul, and now delighted in pain and torment.. Her best friends Xander and Willow had experienced much grief from love-Willow had found out that her cool boyfriend Oz was actually a werewolf, whilst Xander had been dumped by Queen of the Sheep Cordelia Chase, only to reunite again. And as for Giles...Buffy flinched every time she remembered Jenny's demise at the hands of her ex-lover.

However, Buffy was a Slayer-being stong was her gig, and she *had* to figure out how to gain the strength to stake Angelus once and for all.
She just needed a little more time...

All of a sudden, a vampire shot from behind a gravestone, wrinkly, fangs bared. Buffy retrieved her stake automatically, and blew back a strand
of loose hair that blurred her vision. As the vampire circled her, she thought swiftly. The vampire could be killed instantly if she aimed right, although perhaps she *could* have a little fun first...

*CHOICES*
(Pick one)

1) Attempt to kill vampire by throwing stake into his heart, creating Slayer efficiency

2) Fight vamp and get close enough to try and stake him

3) Sarcastically greet him before letting him taste Slayer strength.

4) ...Run!

CHOICE 1 = Attempt to kill vampire bythrowing stake, creating slayer efficiency

Buffy felt as though she had enough on her mind for one night, without dealing with your pesky avarage vampire. So to save time and energy, she focused, and quickly threw the stake at the vampire's heart. However, loose hair hindered her concentration, and she watched in alarm as the blunt end of the stake hit his chest, and bounced off. The vampire, unimpressed, flew at her, enraged.

'Note to self - efficiency sucks!', muttered Buffy, as she dodged her foe. She had actually wasted time with the vamp , as the fight was now taking longer than normal without her stake. She punched, he punched....she kicked, he stumbled backwards over a gravestone. She quickly retrieved her stake, and soon the vampire was a pile of dust on the wet grass. Buffy almost wept when she noticed a grass stain on the elbow of her new jacket.

'What a sucky day', she inexplicably said out loud. 'Then again, better my sucky than his sucky'.

She walked home, disappointed.

*****************

The following morning, Buffy entered the school library, where Giles sat at his desk eating a banana whilst reading a dusty volume. She walked up to him.

'Morning,' she said brightly, trying to see what he was reading.

'Oh, uh, good morning Buffy', her Watcher replied. 'How was patrol last night?'

He hastily closed the book, and Buffy frowned.

'The usual. Vampire tried to include me in his evening meal, blah blah blah, a slight accident with the stake, and then not so much'.

Buffy paused. She bit her lip, and decided to ask him out straight....

*CHOICES* (Pick one)

1) Ask him what he's reading

2) Ask him if he's growing a secret banana tree in the confines of the library

3) Talk to him about the current situation with Angel

4) Ask him for a quick training session.

Technically, it would be Angelus, but in season 2, Buffy tended to think of him as still Angel :)

CHOICE 3 - Talk to Giles about the current situation with Angel

Buffy couldn't stand it anymore. Angelus preyed on her mind night and day, and she needed to talk to someone about it. Who would be better than Giles?

'Giles', she began, but as he looked up, she instantly changed her mind. It was her fault that Ms Calendar had died. He wouldn't understand her dilemma... his pain was still fresh. She quickly swallowed her doubts and fears, feeling annoyed that she could consider doing something so stupid.

Giles looked at her quizzically, sensing his Slayer in distress.

'Buffy?'

Smiling faintly, she returned his gaze.

'Whatcha reading?'

Giles blinked. 'Oh, just some light reading material. Very interesting actually. It concerns various myths that have been created over the centuries, and the search for truth by the world's most respected academics. I was just reading Croeze's deconstruction of...'

Buffy has to stop him before things went out of hand.

'Okay, I get the picture. Well, ish.' She picked up the text and flipped to a random page. 'Cool. Tooth fairy. She owes me for the last three teeth.'

She pointed to an illustration of a sprite. 'So these things could really exist?'

Giles sighed, took off his glasses, and briskly began to clean them.

'Its an uncertain area, Buffy. There is an insufficient.....'

The bell rang suddenly, and Buffy jumped to her feet.

'Well, learning beckons to those of little learning. I better go'

Giles stared, bewildered, as Buffy sprinted through the double doors.

*******

Several hours later, Buffy found herself sitting in math class, facing her biggest foe yet. The big test was today, and Buffy hadn't even revised the night before. Willow smiled reassuringly next to her, making Buffy feel sicker. Willow never had to worry about passing tests and dusting boogeymen.

Silently, Buffy cursed the day she was called as the Vampire Slayer.

*******

As Buffy left the classroom, she felt sure she had performed badly. If only she spent so much time in the graveyard the night before...

She headed to the cafetaria, with Willow, who planned on meeting Oz there for lunch. She wasn't sure if she could face being around the happy couple, but it wasn't Willow's -or Oz's fault that her boyfriend was a sadistic blood-o-holic. Perhaps she could just make an excuse to Willow without hurting her best friend's feelings... go train in the library with Giles like a Good Slayer.

Before she had time to ponder her options, Willow tugged at her arm.

'I wonder what's up with Xander', she whispered, finally getting Buffy's attention. 'D'you think Cordelia's standing him up?'

Buffy glanced at Xander's solitary figure, standing by Cordelia's locker. He had a worried look on his face, and Buffy had a feeling that it had nothing to do with math...

*CHOICES* (Pick one)

1) Join Willow and Oz for lunch as planned.

2) Join the lonely Xander outside the locker.

3) Join Giles for a training session.

CHOICE 2 - Join the lonely Xander outside the locker.

Buffy smiled at Willow. 'Its okay. You go meet Oz. Get some time of the quality kind. I'll see what's up with Xander'.

Willow hugged her friend gratefully, and gave Xander one last look before she left in search of Oz. Buffy exhaled deeply, and walked up to the forlorn Xander. Finally, he spotted Buffy, straightening a little.

'Buff! Come to pity the pathetic, I see'

Buffy tilted her head. 'Actually, I thought that was Cordelia's job. Speaking of whom...'

Xander smiled sadly. 'She told me to wait right here whilt she went to powder her nose. That was was over 20 minutes ago, when we both finished the test early. I think I've been dumped. Again'

'Okay, give me a moment and I'll check if she's still in there', Buffy reassured. Swiftly, she left him alone again, and a few near-collisions later, she found herself in the girls' bathroom.

'Cordelia?'

There was silence. She checked each stall - each door was wide open. But it appeared that Cordelia was definitely not in the room. She returned to Xander, a fake smile plastered on her face for his benefit.

'She's not in there, but I'm sure that's nothing to worry about...'

Xander looked away.

Buffy cleared her throat. 'So, uh, what did you think of the math test? I totally bombed. I forgot to study - again - and there was this vampire-'

'I studied', Xander interrupted, 'Willow tutored me. But today, when I looked at the paper, I realized - I'm a lost cause, just like Cordy's always told me. I can't u8nderstand numbers and I can't understand girls. I suck'

Buffy felt really bad for Xander. Cordelia really had taken a bite out of his self-confidence this time. She grabbed his shoulders forcefully to get his attention, and he returned her gaze mournfully. She cleared her throat.

*CHOICES* (Pick One)

1) Announce romantic feelings for Xander. That wll shut him up.

2) Offer a friendly shoulder to cry on, and suggest a trip to the Bronze along with Willow and Oz later.

3) Laugh at his misfortunes and agree with everything he's said.
