Okay I guess but not great.
Useful as it introduces the Jem'Hadar being dependent on Ketrocel White but very little point beyond that (imo) :)
I was starting to wonder if I'd reached the point where, first time around, I started to lose a bit of interest in this series. After a good season premiere there has been a sequence of, imo, pretty dull and uninteresting episodes - the first time I've thought that through the first two and a bit seasons.
But, hurrah, this one was very good. Some excellent character development going on around both the A and B plots, particularly for Odo, Sisko and Jake.
I couldn't remember this episode at all, so it was a surprise when the child turned out to be a Jem'Hadar. Even though I vaguely remember learning that The Founders keep them under control by building in this requirement that only they can provide it still didn't occur. Very clever idea that, I wonder if it will backfire on them.
TNG would probably have gone down the road of humanising him too much (a la Hugh), so I was really pleased that they didn't do that here, and that he turned out to be just as nasty as the rest of his race, by design.
I also liked the scenes between Odo and Kira, especially the one in his new quarters. And also the scene where Sisko invites Mardah ( ) to dinner, which played out rather differently than one would expect.
Damn you, Jake - wish I'd met a Dabo girl when I was 16
Good one

Jake certainly has a talent.
There's only one explanation, Jake is obviously King Ding-a-Ling
