Title: 10 - The Doctor Dances

jamiearmour - May 28, 2005 07:29 PM (GMT)

A great finale to a brilliant 2 parter. The scene with Rose and the Doctor discussing Jack's "questionable" sexuality was hilarious.

"Close the doors. Your ships about to explode. There'll be a draft." :lmao:

The best scene had to be the Doctor getting out of the cliffhanger situation.

"I'm glad that worked. Those would have been terrible last words."

The trailer for next week looks good too. :fear:

Again, I didn't spot the Bad Wolf reference this week :( <_<

Outta Sight - May 28, 2005 07:47 PM (GMT)
Yeah, good stuff again

I chuckled out loud at the "those would have been terrible last words" line :lmao:

LMAO at Captain Jack's questionable sexuality :lmao: and at the banana :lmao:

Anyone else feel that it's gone by really fast, only a few episodes left I believe :(

jamiearmour - May 28, 2005 08:00 PM (GMT)
3 episodes left :tear: "Boom Town" next week, then "Bad Wolf" and then "Parting of the ways" Then we'll have to wait till Christmas to see any more :fear:

I don't like happy endings as a rule but I still thoroughly enjoyed this. You'd have to be a soulless demon not to have been moved/uplifted by the "Go on you clever little things/just one perfect day" sequence which I think was down to how well CE played it.

Of course if it was my show either the bomb would have killed Nancy/the kid and everone else or at least Jack would have died.

I also loved "I'm not German - they don't win" - imagine what that would have meant to someone in that place at that time.

Missed the first 10 mins <_< so shall have to watch the repeat.

Enjoyed the bit at the end with the ` Close the door `line - didn`t see the rescue coming at all, awwwww. :)

Looking forward to next week`s ep. , although it`s Cardiff again ???

This was another excellent one - if only hampered by the dancing guff.

Excellent episode though I would have preferred it if Captain Jack had done the decent thing and snuffed it. Now I suppose he's around next week.

I'm with Philip here, what was the dancing thing all about. Just dragged the ending out.

Not sure about next week. Only time will tell.

Good Episode. It was funny to see the Doctor dance, but it didn't make the episode better. I don't think it should've been called "The Doctor Dances". I didn't think it was that important. :ponder:

jamiearmour - May 29, 2005 10:46 AM (GMT)
Did none of you pick up on the fact that "Dancing" was a metaphor for sex?

The whole conversation between Rose and The Doctor and Jack, about distracting the guard was the biggest single entendre in the entire series EVER!!!

smellyphagor - May 29, 2005 10:59 AM (GMT)
Liked the fact that it did not romanticise Britian of that time too much- teenage mothers forced to lie and hide, homosexuality illegal, and didn't one of the children say that he came back to London after being evacuated because of something nasty that happend to him in the country? Actually, this story line was mostly about sex. Blimey. The reason for the gas mask zombies was reasonably satisfactory as well.

Not sure about next week. The farting aliens dragged a bit for me the first time. We shall see, I suppose.

jamiearmour - May 29, 2005 11:33 AM (GMT)
Well I suppose it'll be the perfect partnership next week. The Gelth need gas to survive until they find a corpse to inhabit, and who better to provide gas than a member of the Slitheen family

Great ep - loved the Doctor being severely jealous at Rose's liking for Cpn Jack, and all the talk of "dancing" ;) and the sonic weapon envy

Oooh guess where next weeks is set

Another cracking episode.

Loved the Doctor's escape from the cliffhanger and all the banter between the Doc and Jack. I'm glad Jack did survive as I could see him turning out to be a good recurring character.

There were some great lines in this episode so I hope Stephen Moffat writes some more for the second series. LOL @ the women at the end whose leg had grown back " there is a war on are you sure you didn't just mis-count ? ".

I didn't understand who the hell Jack was (stupid Eurovision :() but enjoyed this episode. @ Doctor: I've just remembered! I can dance!
Rose: Oh, I thought Jack might like this dance.
Doctor: I'm sure he will - but who with?
The Doctor isn't too good at hiding his jealousy of the men in Rose's life though is he

I really enjoyed this episode. It was a great conclusion to the story by Stephen Moffat. I'm glad that he is returning next year as it will make another good series.

good episode.
really enjoyed rose/doctor/jack moments.
It was an enjoyable episode to watch, the girl who turns out to be the boy's mum.Did anyone else see that one coming?
"are you my mummy"-rather annoying line.

Loved it. I can't believe I ever had any doubts that the Beeb were doing the right thing in bringing the show back!

Great stuff, and very funny in places too. Was it Neil who made the comment about happy endings? I totally agree with him on this. Not always my cup of tea, but this one was terrific.

So sad though that we are rapidly closing in on the end of the season. Six whole months until the Christmas special! Noooo!

I didn't see that coming either, but annoyingly, all the clues were there, when you look back! (Well done, Stephen Moffatt!)

Spot on, Smelly. (Doesn't seem right, referring to you as Smelly... is there anything else we can call you? lol!)

Ive given everything from this series so far a solid 5/5 (bar AOL and Long game)....

This tested me. I a huge Doctor Who fan by the way. I sat down to watch having been totally blown away by TEC a week before and what do I find...a very dull first 30 minutes. However, the last 15 were about the best of the series so far and I will enevr ever forget the dancing moments. The last moments saved it from being a dud.....

4/5

I cant be the only one who thinks "are you my mummy?" was overused?
