Title: Season 2 Ideas

Well if Billie is leaving I think we should at least have an episode without a companion at all.

Just have David Tennant and The Tardis.

Also in companion terms maybe bring back K9? The special effects can now be done and it would also maybe keep the kids watching as well because he was always a favourite.

Alien companion - maybe somebody like Leela?

Male Companion? Not been a really good one since Harry Sullivan.

Also bring back The Cybermen please I really prefered them to The Daleks.

Jelly Babies Anyone?

Plus have Mark Gatiss writing a few more episodes this time round and Russel T Davies writing a few less.

Not sure how well it would w**k without a companion. If the doctor has got no-one to explain to, the viewers will never know what he's up to. Even though I like Billie, I don't think her leaving will be anywhere near as bad as CE leaving. When CE leaves, it seems right that the new doctor should get a new assistant.

Just No.

I would like to see the cybermen back as well, although they would need a bit of a revamp. No more silvery suits please.

I'd also like to see the return of the daleks, but in a different form. From the Dalek episode, it sounded like they had been wiped out, but what if Davros hadn't been? He would probably start building the Dalek Mk II. They managed to make the dalek not seem stupid when they brought it back (mainly because the doctor was so scared by it), but it was far too slow. Have them smaller and faster, and more hover-y.

I was quite dissapointed that this week ep didn't feature the master. When they were chasing the thing at the start, I thought it was the masters tardis. Bring back the master, but make him more sneaky and less melodramtic. Someone who can provide an intellectual challenge to the doctor.

Also, I'd like to see more two and three parters (and less "next week on..."s)

I can't see them going back to jelly babies, but I'm sure that David Tennant will bring his own idiosyncracies to the role.

It worked well enough on The Deadly Assassin, but I wonder how much that was down to Tom being able to carry the story on his own :)

As to the other thoughts, you might like to see the new issue of Doctor Who Magazine (which is offically out tomorrow, although some stores might have ti today) :)

When it comes to K9, while I do love him (one of the best companions), I'm not sure how he would w**k today, expecially with the limitations he had (having to have low camera shots to get him in view, and so on). However, I'm sure he would be a big hit for the kids!

I thought that The Daleks were supposed to be in the last epsiode in this season, in a revamped form or did I hear wrong?

I can't believe for one minute that they have gotten rid of The Daleks.

Also I'm a bit surprised that they got rid of The Time Lords and Gallifrey.

I don't think that it will w**k. The companion is needed in order to convey the Doctor's thoughts.

K9 was one of the worst ideas ever. Many of those who acted with it thought it a complete pain in the backside. In particular Elisabeth Sladen hated it because she used to have to keep opening doors for it in high drama scenes.

Well... SPOILER:- They have been confirmed to be returning for series two by DWM.

I don't think that Mark is part of the writing team to be honest. I'll have to check.

Davros was truly the worst Dalek idea ever. The Daleks descended from being callous green things in machines to silly sqwarking fools. I also don't see them using the Daleks again because that would be a bit too much to bring multiple old adversaries back.

I hope that the Master and the Timelords do not ever make their return. The Master was a useful concept during the Pertwee era but got silly as time went by and the TV movie was the worst possible story.

Actually Gatiss is writing for Season 2, although disappointingly Shearman isn't, however I'd hope this is due more to his schedule rather than RTD snubbing him...

I disagree (at least in part) - Davros was a wonderful creation for Genesis of the Daleks - the problem here is that they kept on bringing the guy back for each and every Dalek story!

Although personally I would expect to see the Daleks back - if anything cause they seem so popular with the new generation watching the series! :)

Well they are bringing back an enemy already seen in this season, back again in the same season.

Next epsiode.....

And personally I love the fact this is happening - it gives all the people introduced to Doctor Who with this new series their own personal continuity.

While it's all well and good us wanting Daleks, Cybermen, the Master and the Voord to return, new viewers really couldn't care less - their monsters are the Slitheen, "Max", the Gelth and the Moxx of Balhoon!
