Title: How Old Was Clark In Season 1?

Talking to my sister earlier on the phone and during our conversation Smallville was discussed. She seemed to think that Clark was about 17 in season 1 but I think he was supposed to be about 15. I honestly can't remember, does anyone know? :)

He was a freshman in S1, so that makes him 14 or 15.

That's probably because Tom Welling was about 25 in S1 ;)

He recently turned 28 so that would have made him around about 23-24. But why would the writers have chosen an actor who wasn't right in the age department not that i'm complaining. :drool:

Maybe they couldn't find a young-looking actor who was good enough for the role? It's common practise in TV to do things like this - Charisma Carpenter was in her late 20s when she started on Buffy, playing a 16 year old.

Tom Welling didn't look 14 or 15 in season 1 but then again I don't think he looks 28 now. He is perfect for the part :drool:

i'm guessing Tom Welling was the only decent young actor who they thought would fit Superman's image.At least CHarimsa actually looked like she was a teenager :)

Apart from the drooling bit I agree :lol:
Got to say, he does look the part, and surely the point of acting is to convince people you're something you're not, so if he can be 28 and make us all believe he's 18 you have to congratulate him :)

I agree with ya about him looking the part. You can just see him turning into the older Clark Kent.
