Great finale to the series :)
Fairly solid start to the episode with an amazing ending. Quark was, as usual, good in this and it was nice to see a Quark/Sisko dynamic. Nog and Jake also share a lot of screen time, another pairing I've always liked.
First meet with the Vorta and the Jem'Hadar and I can remember first time round being stunned when the Odyssey gets rammed and explodes.
Chilling final line by the Vorta "You have no idea what you've begun" oslt

I think as far as jaw-dropping Trek finales go, this one's only ever been topped by TNG's Best of Both Worlds, and certainly hasn't been rivalled since.
We'd been hearing little bits about the Dominion all season and here, finally, we get their explosive introduction.
The episode was originally to have featured Rom and Nog instead of Quark, however Max Grodenchik was unavailable at the time. The addition of Quark to the mission probably worked out better IMO anyway.
The final act with the destruction of the Odyssey was, and still is an electric piece of drama, as we realise the lengths that the Dominion are willing to go to.
The line in question;
"You have no idea what's begun here......"
And how right she was, both in terms of Sisko, and us, the viewers !!

Fan-bloody-tastic :)
From what seems like a completely incongruous beginning, with Sisko, Jake, Quark and Nog going on a field trip, this episode turns completely about face, and ends up with a new indestructible nemesis, as well as a Galaxy-class ship getting blown to pieces (and this must have been a doulbe blow at time time, given how TNG had just finished. Apparently, when asked, the creators admitted that had it been the Enterprise and Picard, rather than the Odyssey and Keogh in battle, then the result would still have gone the wrong way.... :fear: )
Although I do love Sisko's threat at the end of the episode - you can just imagine the rest of the crew saying 'how??' Plus, how convenient that right after saying 'the first battle will be at DS9', he buggers off back to Earth :)

Blimey, was that Julian from The Shield I saw as First Officer on The Odyssey :o
How many Galaxy Class starships has Starfleet got left, especially after this and Wolf 359, and wasn't the Enterprise blowing up/crashing in Generations about now?
Will post more tomorrow, had to post those two things before I forgot

He gets around - I caught him on an episode of Law & Order from 1992 last week :)

Cracking episode
Which is odd, because the first half is so sedate. My heart sank for Sisko the moment he found out Jake had invited Nog along, then it literally plunged through the floor when Quark turns up
Unfortunately I remembered straight away that the bird was one of the Founders, so that took all the tension out of that situation, but I still enjoyed the scenes when they were being held captive. Who'd've thought Quark would be such a good shot?
:lmao: @ Jake and Nog in the Runabout.
At last we get a decent battle at the end. The destruction of The Odyssey got replayed several times :o
The final scene's very ominous. So Sisko's off to Earth in the next ep, is he? ;)
Personally I thought Quark's idea for advertising his services was superb

Have we had the one yet where Quark uses the station monitors to advertise his bar?
