Seem to remember that the cross over eps aren't universally liked but I usually enjoy them and this one was no exception :)
Doesn't add a great deal to the storyline but a good standalone episode and fun to see a different side to the usual characters. The one thing that struck me was how dumb the 'terrans' must have been to completely run down their forces with a potential enemy (the alliance) sitting on their borders
Loved watching Odo explode

this one was fun - and nique in a way that the mirror universe had been forgotten since 1967/68, so it was a novel idea at the time.
Still, it's nice to see the cast get to ham it up big time as they play their counterparts (expecially Sisko, who seems to be loving it :)
Also, a lovely effect at the end when Bashir shoots Odo - watch the bugger explode!
However, why is it that at the beginning the runabout starts in the Gamma Quadrant, goes through the wormhole and ends up in the mirror Alpha Quadrant, yet at the end they begin in the mirror AQ, go through the wormshole and end up in the normal AQ rather than the normal GQ?

I really didn't enjoy this episode much and in fact I'm not keen on the Mirror universe episodes generally speaking. Probably the best part of the episode is seeing the Mirror universe version of major Kira who is surprisingly sexy... I don't think she's anywhere near as attractive in the normal trek Universe.
I agree with both of you that watching Odo being shot and exploding was quite fun to watch.
That's a good point Philip why didn't they end up in the normal Gamma Quadrant.
One thing that bothered me that while Major Kira was looking for a transporter why didn't she think of the one on the runabout ? :whistling:

Phillip beat me to the point I was going to make about how they got back. They should've ended up in the normal Gamma Quadrant, and then they would've had to have come back through, and probably ended up in the Mirror Universe again
Usually I'm not keen on them rehashing ideas from Star Trek unless there's a very good reason for it (which there isn't here), but this was good fun. I enjoyed the Quark stuff (amusing to see him in a Schindler role) and the Sisko/Smiley stuff. Kira's alter ego came across a little like Vampire Willow (or vice versa, as this came first), wearing leather, sexy, a bit skanky and also kinda gay
Decent enough, but not a patch on Mirror, Mirror :)
