Title: 24 Season 4 Sky One Pace
Fangy and grrr - May 16, 2005 03:31 PM (GMT)
I thought I'd start a new 24 thread as the title of the other one we were using was a bit misleading and might of been putting people off.
So the President survived, just, and Mike's back ! Where did he come from ? Thats very slippery of him to end up w**king for Palmer's successor and he seemed very suspicious. The VP looked inept rather than suspicious to me but you never know with 24.
Amazing how that couple missed a missile attack above them and a plane crashing next to them yet immediatley recognised the nuclear football !!
Oh and what the hell happened to Behrooz ? they've just totally forgot the poor sod.
Bill The Bloodless - May 16, 2005 03:51 PM (GMT)
Lots of 'amazing' things happen on 24. As the couple were breaking the window of the power station I was thinking you don't want to be going in there. Why didn't they just open the door then scoot round the back and wait in the countryside? It would have took them a while to realise they weren't inside by which time Jack would have arrived. And you can guarantee that Marwan's jeep will somehow escape detection.
And it looks like Jack's getting a touch of Star Trek syndrome about him or maybe it's just becoming a bit more noticeable.
Fangy and grrr - May 16, 2005 05:03 PM (GMT)
It was 'amazing' ;) the way they had a compass to hand to find the tracking device and that the wife having just watched her husband being tortured was able to remember the code for the briefcase she'd only heard once.
Sparkle Motion - May 16, 2005 05:35 PM (GMT)
Another fantastic episode, although my one complaint is there were far too many scenes not featuring Michelle  .
Simply unforgiveable <_<
A letter is on its way to 'Mr 24' :)
Bill The Bloodless - May 17, 2005 12:07 PM (GMT)
Did you suggest that she should get her own spin-off? :)
Yay-For-Me - May 17, 2005 01:26 PM (GMT)
Great episode, real edge of the seat stuff
Don't think the VP is very pleased about having to take over, looks a bit scared but will probably turn out to be w**king with the terrorists knowing 24
Margot C - May 17, 2005 03:15 PM (GMT)
Brilliant episode! It's great to have Mike back (now the only thing this series is missing is Sherry...I'm sure she'd be able to manage coming back from the dead. If anyone can do it, she can  )
Speaking of amazing things, how did Marwan & co get there by car faster than Jack by helicopter? And how did the couple on foot get there faster than the cars? Well, maybe the second one I can forgive, since the cars would have gone by road, wheras they could just run across the field, but still...

I couldn't w**k out if he was just bricking it cos he was now President or whether there was something shady going on

That's 24 for you. Always keeps you guessing. Or does it just make you paranoid?

Is Sherry dead ? I find it really hard to keep track of who is dead and who is still alive in 24.

Of course and I stated it had to have at least one episode where she was gratuitously nekkid for all of it :shifty:

Well I certainly hope they listen to your suggestions. :)

Anyone else spot Heller's son turning up in The O.C. last night as Ryan's brother, Trey? :lmao:
Fangy and grrr - May 19, 2005 04:18 PM (GMT)
Well JoA might have been cancelled but 24 been renewed for two more years.
From the BBC Cult News site ( remember that ! ;) )
| QUOTE |
24 has been renewed for two more seasons.
The Hollywood Reporter announced on Wednesday that Fox has commissioned more 24, taking the show's run up to at least 2007.
The future of the show on Fox was in doubt, with producers haggling over money. It was doubtful whether the show would be axed altogether, however, as it was rumoured that NBC was prepared to stump up the cash for 24 to continue.
There's no news on casting, and whether they'll repeat the practice of sacking everyone and then slowly reinstating them over the season's run. |

What is up with the Vice President? Is it just that's he's a great big scaredy cat? Way to go to President Keeler for choosing such a great second in command  I think Mike should take his place, LOL

I thought Marwan getting the human rights lawyer involved to stop CTU interrogating that guy was ingenious and very funny  and it worked ! :o I bet those other terrorists who spent all their time trying to get moles into CTU are feeling pretty stupid now. ;)
melian - May 24, 2005 04:19 PM (GMT)
Another great episode!
The new Pres is useless :(
He reminded me more of the cowardly lion than the United States President
And was the human rights lawyer bloke the same guy as Charlotte married in Sex and the City?

Why didn't they just tell the lawyer that they didn't know anyone by that name and keep him waiting while the beat the information out of him.
Also when they realised that it was Marwan who phoned (of course only Jack could w**k that out) why didn't they check his phone records get the number, triangulate the whereabouts of his phone, track it down, kill Marwan and recover the bomb. Voila, all done and it didn't even take 24 hours. ;)
And could they make the marine any more of a fairy? A couple of broken fingers and he was crying like a big girl's blouse. Also why didn't he just cut a deal when they brought him in, Marwan for immunity.
Sparkle Motion - May 25, 2005 07:41 AM (GMT)
I did wonder how Marwan was able to track that couple via their mobile so easily a couple of weeks ago yet CTU can't do something similar when Marwan's on his phone all the time <_<
Bill The Bloodless - May 25, 2005 09:51 PM (GMT)
They use mobile phones so much that I'm beginning to suspect that they have some secret deal with the phone companies. I wouldn't be susprised to see 'sponsored by Vodaphone' (or the US equivalent) on the back of the CTU jackets. ;)
Yay-For-Me - May 30, 2005 11:22 AM (GMT)
Yay to the reappearance of David Palmer  He'll sort them out. Present Logan was making me really angry last night  the man is an idiot, how did he get so far in politics
Bill The Bloodless - May 30, 2005 12:03 PM (GMT)
Just one question. How long did it take Chloe to get from CTU to the woman's house, about 5 minutes or so. So why when the shooting started were the nearest agents 15 minutes away? Surely Jack and Tony at CTU were only 5 minutes away.
Fangy and grrr - May 30, 2005 03:04 PM (GMT)
A big Yay to the return of the real President.  I thought this may be where the President Logan storyline was going the thing that surprised me was that he was able to admit that he wasn't up to it himself I thought they'd have to force him out.
LOL @ Chole and her machine gun. Go Chole. If I was Edgar I wouldn't deny her access to his system ever again ! ;)
Oh and Holtz turned up in 24.
willowroolz - May 31, 2005 08:00 AM (GMT)
Very enjoyable episode, although I have to laugh at the liberties the show takes with its "real time" environment. The last thing Jack did in the previous episode was break Prado's (sp?) fingers and knock him unconscious in the car, the first thing that we see this week is Prado in (I assume) CTU's medical room. Surely only 1 second had passed between the two scenes? How'd they get him there so fast??
Grrr at the stupid vice president, and yay (and  ) at the reappearance of Palmer (saw that one coming a mile off).
 @ Chloe too
Outta Sight - May 31, 2005 08:12 AM (GMT)
I'd accidentally spoiled and knew David Palmer was returning so when Mike said about someone who was able to help the president, I knew immediately this was where David would re-appear  If the president did step down, who would be next in line to take his place?
LMAO @ Chloe and her gun :lmao:
Margot C - May 31, 2005 10:46 AM (GMT)
Woo! Go Chloe!!
And yay to the return of Palmer! I love not being spoiled for stuff like this. It was a great surprise, although I did guess when they said about there being only one person who could help
I have more respect for Logan after he admitted he wasn't good enough. I also didn't like the way he was portrayed as being weak because he didn't want Jack to torture that guy. I agree that he should have made a decision one way or the other much quicker than he did, but I have become increasingly angry with the way torture is being dealt with in this series, as if it is acceptable just because it's the "good guys" who are doing it.

melian - May 31, 2005 12:21 PM (GMT)
Fabulous episode this week. I was on the edge of my seat for most of it, especially with Chloe at the end :fear:
I thought Jack would run to her aid but it turns out she can help herself. yay Chloe
Bill The Bloodless - May 31, 2005 06:09 PM (GMT)
I can't believe how happy everyone is at the return of Palmer. Is this the best they can do, continually bring back old characters to surprise the viewers?
Margot C - May 31, 2005 06:12 PM (GMT)
Well, given that my main problem with the beginning of the series was that I didn't know/care about any of the characters apart from Jack and Chloe, yes I would say this is the best thing for them to do - not to surprise viewers, but to make us care more about what happens. Just my opinion. :)
Margot
melian - June 1, 2005 11:30 AM (GMT)
I agree Margot. We have new bad guys each season but it is nice to see our favourite good guys popping up now and then :D You feel much more emotion towards a known character than a new one. The episode where Tony first helps Jack is a prime example to me. I was thrilled and excited when Tony turned up  and would have felt none of that if Jack had been saved by someone I didn't know.
Do you know what I mean? I don't think I explained myself very well :(
willowroolz - June 1, 2005 11:34 AM (GMT)
I tend to agree with Bill on this. I thought it was unintentionally hilarious when Michelle returned (along with all the pointless soap-opera-ish plot padding that came along with her) and now Palmer.
What next? Hmm, any bets on Kim turning up and being kidnapped by Marwan for a less-than-gripping finale?
