I quite enjoyed this one - the trouble with episodes like this though is that (especially with the unoriginality of the likes of Voyager and Enterprise) one can never quite remember when a plot line was an original one - sadly this one is overshadowed by Enterprise's 'Oasis' being an exact copy of it...
Anyway, it was quite odd to hear that Odo came along 'to find out more about his peoples origins' or some guff like that - it made more sense than 'Odo's tagging along for plot convenience :)). This episode is an awfully good one for him though - especially his relationship with the liitle girl (and his morphing into a spinning top at the end was lovely :)).
The DS9-based plots were a bit thin - Jake's story amounted to 'Sisko wants Jake to join Starfleet but Jake doens't - and that was about it, while Kira got to snog Bariel and the nfind out he was a decoy, but this didn't detract much.
Oh yes, and score one more point for another oblique Dominion reference :)

Pretty much the thing that elevates this episode from so-so to eminently watchable for me :)
Quite liked the Quark/Kira subplot and Jake not wanting to go to Starfleet, although as Phillip says they are a bit thin, and really only there to flesh the episode out a bit.
Hadn't really realised before the re-watch just how many little Dominion references crop up :)

I wasn't very keen on this episode and at best all I can say is that it is watchable.

:)
I really need some kind of 'Spoiler Free' Stamp.
Or I could be really lazy and simply copy/paste it where appropriate :ponder:

Fairly average, this one, I thought, and another one I remembered quite well. It's pretty obvious they're not going to drag in someone like Kenneth Tobey and then have him not be the main player in the situation :)
I enjoyed the Odo side of things, but I also enjoyed Jake's little side story. It wasn't particularly major, but being as vital as it is to the character I quite liked it, especially the little chat he had with O'Brien and then worrying about how his father would react, which was nicely handled.
