| At the Celebration III convention in Indianapolis, George Lucas let it slip that a new DVD box set of all 6 films is in the works, possibly to include an all-new bonus disc containing deleted scenes from the original trilogy. Expect no further changes in the films themselves. In addition, don't look for a high-definition release of the films in 2007. Lucas also confirmed that the digitally-screened version of Episode III will be slightly longer than the traditional film version. |

It looks like 2007 is just for a High Definition version, we'll probably get the standard box set next year sometime. So that'll be three dvd versions, with more to follow, no doubt.

Didn't we already have a digital re-mastered version of the originals with deleted scenes? Which kinda highlighted why they were deleted in the first place.

I'm wondering if this means that Biggs's scenes on Tatooine will be included finally

I don't know about the box set but you can bet your life revenge of the Sith will be released on DVD before Christmas most likely October/November time in a double disc package.

Maybe I read it there although I did expect it to be released in time for Christmas like most movies theatrically released before September. :)

As my mother would probably say....
Does he think we're made of money???
Or just that we're stupid enough to fork out money for a few extra bit's n bobs that we can probably download 5 minutes after the boxsets release?

According to sources for ComingSoon.Net, we'll be seeing 6 different Star Wars DVD releases on November 1st of this year. It looks like you can buy the final movie separately, buy the prequels together or buy all six films in a complete set. Whether or not this is the "definitive release" of the complete saga is unknown, but we can sure hope for a pile of new extras. Here's the list we were given:
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (Widescreen) 11/1 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (Full Screen) 11/1 Star Wars Episodes I-III (Widescreen) 11/1 Star Wars Episodes I-III (Full Screen) 11/1 Star Wars Episodes I-VI (Widescreen) 11/1 Star Wars Episodes I-VI (Full Screen) 11/1 |
So back to Jamie's comment then
