What was the last thing you bought?
Why did you buy it?
Did you need it?

Wanted some choccie to cheer me up
Of course! It's chocolate! :P

The last thing I bought was Buffy TVS: Chaos Bleeds on PS2, but I really wish I hadn't bothered. I kinda wanted it for a while but I was seeing how cheap I could get it first so when I saw it for £19.99 in Blockbuster I thought I'd buy it. I don't like it much though, after just completeing the Alias game it seemed really basic. I might try it again soon as I've only played about 5 mins of it.

can anyone else hear a credit card crying?
;)
Persephone - April 28, 2004 09:08 PM (GMT)
My credit card was already crying, due to budget Buffy DVD's :(

Buffy season 7 and Firefly dvds. Ooh, and I've got the Monster Legacy box set on the way (all the old Karloff/Lugosi/Chaney Frankenstein/Dracula and Wolfman movies). Can't wait!

Okay, I'm gonna have to hammer this into my forehead: LOG IN BEFORE YOU POST.... FOOL!!!
LoobiLou - April 28, 2004 10:01 PM (GMT)
:fear: It's not a logging in problem is it? :fear:
Crichton Kicks - April 28, 2004 10:24 PM (GMT)
Technically B5 S4 on Monday.
However I've purchased The Fog SE and Apollo 13 online tonight, although the credit card authorisation hasn't gone through yet, so I guess it's still B5 at this point then !! :D
Why did I buy it ??
Did I need it ??
The answer to the second question is very much a yes, which then lends itself to answer the first question ;)
It's B5, how can anyone do without it ???????????????? :stoopid:

Yeah, I got that too. Forgot that one!! I'm not happy with them changing the packaging, though. The spine doesn't match up with the previous sets when it sits on my shelf... I'm being fanboy again aren't I??
BTW, I love Apollo 13. Great movie!
Crichton Kicks - April 29, 2004 05:14 PM (GMT)
^^ I hate the new packaging :(
There was nothing wrong with the fold-out cardboard packaging of the past seasons, these ones seem cheap and tacky by comparison. Such a great series deserves the very best, these platic boxes are clearly not it :(
Apollo 13 is a great movie, although I was sad to see that the DVD doesn't seem to have the Docu included that WAS included as part of the VHS release :( Is this is a rare case of the VHS version being better, extras-wise ?? :(

First time for everything, wow Val, I think you have the only film in the world that's better on VHS than DVD.
I ordered Firefly by the way...... :D

Sorry to say I got the region 1 version, which does have the documentary on it.

It's really odd. The Region 2 version has most of the extras that the Region 1 version has, but not possibly the most important one :(
It was on the VHS edition, the material's already been cleared by the BBFC, can't imagine it's due to disc space, so who knows.....?? :(

It's very strange. I think the region 2 releases are becoming more or less the equivalent of the region 1 versions these days, if not surpassing them. Apollo 13 was released on reg 2 quite a long time ago, wasn't it? That may have something to do with it.

I think it was actually. It's pretty tough to get hold of as well. Play don't carry it, and I can't remember seeing it on the high street either.
I think the Region 1 and 2 releases in general have evened out a little in the last year or so. Deer Hunter is one example where the Region 2 release is superior to it's Region 1 counterpart, but more or less nowadays they're the same editions, particularly the newer releases.
I think the best bet is just to chip your DVD player and cherry-pick both formats :)

Ah, now you see, this one I did get the Region 1 version :)
Simply because a) I didn't know whether it would be ever released on Region 2, and more importantly B) I wanted then and not now !!! :D
melian - April 30, 2004 10:37 AM (GMT)
The last things I bought were the Firefly Boxset (just fantastic!!!) and the Kill Bill dvd.

Me too, for pretty much the same reasons! But then I got the reg 2 set as well. Don't ask, I'm just mad!
Oh, and my Monster Legacy box set turned up yesterday. Yay! And no customs charges! Double yay!!

I haven't named them yet. I was trying to think of something Culty which doesn't betray how much of a cult tv fan I am ;).

Them names would be good but they're both girls. I've got loads of male names but no female ones.
I'm trying to remember what the other X5's were called in Dark Angel. Will have to look it up...
Crichton Kicks - May 4, 2004 05:59 PM (GMT)
2 girls ??
Dru and Darla surely ;)
Or, for the sake of irony, you could call one of them Anya :D :D :D
LoobiLou - May 5, 2004 01:37 PM (GMT)
A USB hub
From PCWorld
I needed more ports :upside:
Phillip Culley - May 5, 2004 05:13 PM (GMT)
