The end of season 2 was such a :o ohmygod wtf just happened moment! I was very grateful that I already had season 3 sitting on my shelf so I could just carry on where I left off :p. There's no way I could've survived months of waiting.

Yeah, I was very keen to keep watching, so bought an r1 copy off amazon. Not too bad a price, I think it was around £25, can't remember exactly though.

What's the packaging like Ria? I really liked the r1 s2 packaging, with the clear slip case around the box

I have the S3 R1 set and the packaging is rubbish, imo.

( Does imo need to be capitalised ? Not used it before  )

It does have the slip cover, which is fun - it has JG, MG and MV on the front, then when you remove the plastic cover, you`re left with just JG and MV on the front of the box. Aw.

However, the DVDs are in a similar box to the R2 Series 1 box, except they`re clear perspex not red this time. The annoying bit ? I`ve already managed to break one of the plasticky centre bits which keep the DVD in place  I found the DVDs very awkward to get out of the packaging, too.

Much preferred the sets where you have three individual boxes; easier to use and you can lend them out 1/3 of a season at a time, rather than wave bye-bye to the whole box set when/if you loan it out.

Okay, mini-rant over.

willowroolz - May 6, 2005 11:31 AM (GMT)
 Thanks. I'm still quite tempted

As LP said, the front cover and box look nice, but the design of the box with each disc in a separate plastic thing is quite impractical. You have to open & close it really carefully so as not to snap it all to pieces! I'd still say it's a good buy though, it meant I didn't have to wait, and as long as the discs themselves don't break I can deal with the box design. :)

I agree with Ria - I got my S3 DVDs as soon as they came out in the US, so quite a few months before the UK ones even appeared for ordering - the extras are really good, too, as usual.

Ria, did you find the easter egg ? It`s on disc 5. I think you go to the Paley Festival/special features bit, and instead of clicking to play the festival, you push ` up ` 5 or 6 times, until a Rambaldi symbol appears, then press enter.

Oooh, no I hadn't found that! Thanks :) I shall have to go look that up later.

There`s nothing worse than inadvertantly coming across a spoiler, either ! :)
