Title: Dvds - Last Chance To Buy???

InsaneInTheBasement - May 3, 2005 09:59 PM (GMT)
I got my new TV mag today and there is a big full-page advert for Choices Direct selling Angel DVDs - "Seasons 1-5 Deluxe Packaging DVD Boxsets - Your Last Chance To Buy - Only £34.99 Each At Choices Direct"
Does this mean that a big all-in-one boxset (like the Buffy one that's now worth LOADS) is on the cards for release in Autumn, or does it just mean that they will be changing the packaging of the individual box sets in future? (Like the ones on dvd.co.uk)
A big all-in-one boxset would be great cos it would match my Buffy boxset on the shelf. I don't have any Angel DVDs yet, so I would rather wait for a big set than buy each season individually.
:ermm:

I'm pretty sure this just means it's the last chance to get book-style packaging, as from now on they'll be manufacturing them in the standard Amaray boxes.

Still haven't bought S5-book style

I saw the advert too and thought the same. They'll be back in the new style. :)

Yes, but what about a box set?!?!?!?! I want a big Five-Series box set!!!!

Anyway... I was browsing tesco's site and found THIS!
1st August release - doesn't say which episodes are on them though, but it looks like they're doing Fred, Gunn, Cordelia and Wesley. What about Lorne? And I bet the Connor fans will be complaining before long... Shame there wasn't many Doyle episodes. :tear:

If there is a big Angel set coming, I'd expect to be announced closer to Christmas, like the Buffy set was...

How many Lorne-centric episodes are there though? :)

I'd expect some of the lesser characters (like Lorne and Connor) to get releases in a second wave of the character sets - not unlike what they did with the likes of Dawn for Buffy.

At last the prices have dropped. Now is the time to buy for anyone else who has waited. I have just ordered. At last the story will be complete. All the moans have left me with some feeling of trepidation. sk

I'm very tempted actually to get the amaray sets now that they're only £17.99 (mega bargain!!!!) but they only seem to go up to Season 3 and I'd like to have all matching. Will they be doing S4 & S5 in the new 'cheap' packaging too?

laughitupfuzzball - May 4, 2005 07:06 PM (GMT)
:shifty: I was too tempted and have just bought some. Shockingly good price

slaps wrists, I really wasn't going to buy anymore this week

Nor me. And I'd like to try and get it in the old style packaging or it won't match. <_< But I was gonna wait til we came to it in the rewatch, as I have no great urgency to watch S5 again.

I just got S5 on DVD from Choices, which is also cheap.

Happy Anniversary is sort of Lorne centric as well.
