As I said just my opinion.

To lightweight for my liking, bland.

If I don't like stuff I usually don't watch it long enough to take a serious dislike, if you see what I mean, but I am seriously thinking of giving up on Enterprise.

Actually, I know it isn't telly, but I really hate Lord Of The Rings. I'd better leave....

I'll stand by you Alex, Charmed is rubbish. Similarly, Alias does very little for me either, although this season's not been too bad. Smallville however I'd disagree, but it's probably not for everyone.

Other shows to avoid, any post-DS9 Star Trek, ie. Voyager and Enterprise. Kev Trek (A*ndromeda) goes without saying as well.

Of the current crop, not too sure, most of it's alright. I've not been blown away by Lost yet, but there are signs there that it may come good.

I agree with pretty much everything James said (apart from Alias which is very good, imo). Mutant X never did anything for me, either, and I lost interest in Tru Calling about halfway through.

Laughitupfuzzball, the first two seasons of Alias were excellent, the third season was dreadful and if you saw a couple of episodes of that that could explain your dislike of Alias!

Cult series' I wouldn't recommend include mutant X, Kev Trek, Voyager, Enterprise, Smallville, Tru Calling & Charmed... There's another one that I didn't like that whole lot of you guys here like except I can't remember what it's called :rolleyes: ... Earth something or other? Nevermind I can't remember.

Its a great little series, just one season. It was shown quite a long time ago though, 10 years ago, would that be it :unsure:

i like buffy, angel, charmed, point pleasant has my interest at the moment although i missed a couple :wox:

have seen smallville before but never got into it, and have never seen alias, babylon 5, etc etc etc etc :unsure:

did see one tru calling , but didnt like it cause she wasnt faith, couldnt make the transition somehow was weird :fear:

Firefly - too many uninsteresting run of the mill characters and episodes that very rarely rose above disappointing. Oh yeah and an unbearable theme tune.

Tru Calling - just rubbish.

Star Trek Voyager and Enterprise - the same faults as the others but worse characters and no decent episodes to speak of.

Now you see, I thought that, but then I thought surely someone with as much taste as SF could never ever mean Earth2....... :unsure: :p :lol:

I'd recommend most Cult shows for this thread, to be honest. There's only a few which are actually any good. I'd probably be better off listing the ones I *would* recommend (except I know I'd forget a couple). But of the shows on the forum homepage, I watch Angel, Buffy, Farscape, Firefly, Smallville and Who (the new series, though it's maddeningly inconsistent). The rest... pfft, forget them.

My Dad's a fairly new convert to Cult tv. He's worked his way through Alias, Stargate, 24,Firefly, Lost, Taken, The 4400 and Roswell so far, (he didn't really like Farscape,) but I still can't bring myself to recommend Buffy to him. Might try Angel with him though :lol: :lol:

Wouldn't you need to show him some Angel-centric Buffy eps to get him up to speed with the character?

nah, I think you can watch Angel without needing to see anything of Buffy, and it probably becomes irrelevant after the first season.

I never really took to B5. I always meant to watch it right from the beginning as I think a lot of my apathetic feeling towards the show came from just not understanding it properly. But I never saw the beginning (thank you C4) so it remains a bit meh until I do.

Maybe I'll buy the boxsets one day. Or I suppose I could download it. Don't suppose there's a B5 n/g out there?

Not really - season 3 really put me off the show and I just couldn't get into season 4 at all.

There certainly is/was a B5 binary newsgroup, but it is long dead activity wise. DVD rips are widely available via bittorrrent though.
