Title: Shiver down the spine moment

Channel hopping this morning and hit The Gathering on Bravo. It was the scene where Sinclair is asked why Babylon 5 is called that so when he repiled "Babylon 4 disappeared and nobody knows where it went" I got one of those huge shivery moments :D

And there's the whole "I Don't remember what happened at the Battle of the Line" thing :)

As soon as I have season 5 on DVD it's time for a rewatching from the beginning I think :)

Odd that in the Pilot we have no idea of the Shadows yet they still managed to throw up God know's how many different mysteries :o

But that was the beauty of B5 - it was all mapped out from the beginning, parts that don't make sense at the time pay off later, sometimes much later :)

And some had to be drastically reworked ;)

Ah, but that would be using the "loopholes" and "escape clauses" deliberately built in ;)

LOL

Yeah right :)

In hindsight I think I was actually grateful for the whole WWE thing. Whilst WWE was a cracking couple of episodes I found SiL to be a much more satisfying finale. Downbeat, poignant and completely compelling. Plus we still got the kickass WWE anyway, only in a slightly altered state :)

I've realised since it finished that The Masterplan was reworked to a certain extent which makes the fact that it all makes sense that much more admirable.

Is there a definitive "this is how it was supposed to be" guide or is you guy's knowledge of the changes just based on "hearsay" ?

I'm sure there have been bibles floating around for B5 at some point after the show ended, there was definitely one for Crusade available, which was quite interesting.

Most of the stuff though comes from JMS out of the newsgroups and such.

Originally 5x22 would have incorporated the events of SiL with WWE. Sinclair would have gone back in time to get B4 and take it back in time 1000 years. This was why in BABYLON SQUARED Sinclair looked so much older, originally he had come from 20 years in the future. Of course when O'Hare got the boot this changed somewhat and when they eventually did WWE in season 3 they had to come up with the time distortion explanation for aging Sinclair.

There's also the character arc of Sakai transferred to Anna, and one thread particular of Takashima's that went to Jack, Garibaldi's security aide.

There are plenty more :)

A couple of "special" moments for me include...

Your signature Angel .... when marcus tries to stop n'rune(spelling?) from killing Delenn before she's made head of the rangers

"I am a Ranger. We walk in the dark places no others will enter. We stand on the bridge and no one may pass. We live for the One, we die for the One"

the Ivanova speech

"This is the White Star Fleet. Negative on surrender...we will not stand down."
"Who is this? Identify yourself."
"Who am I? I am Susan Ivanova, Commander, daughter of Andrei and Sophie Ivanov. I am the right hand of vengeance, and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth ... I am Death incarnate, and the last living thing that you are ever going to see. God sent me."

n'rune(spelling?)

Neroon :)

I loved the Ivanova one as well, and Comes the Inquisitor was full of great quotes IMO.
