Title: Season 2, Outskirts, Damascus, Ne
Description: Episode 20

Dying on the floor, Belyakov grabs Ben by the throat, and the two are transported to the site of the tree. A suddenly younger Belyakov intones: "Behold, the Usher, a dark heart dwells where the branches meet. Anointed dagger, plunge thee deep." And stabbing the dagger into a fork in the tree, he releases blue blood from the branch.

Belyakov places his hand on Ben's head, and the young man screams. Across the country, Justin gasps in a fit, twisting his Bible in his hands and falling to his knees. As Balthus looks on, gurgling in an attempt to speak, and Iris and the maid stare in horror, Justin rears up, his eyes completely black, and collapses.

  fantastic

I can't believe I've only got 3 episodes left :tear:

Sampson's reaction to managements death was played really well, Ben having to earn his trust and respect with the convenient big wheel accident.

So now managements powers have been fused with Ben's he is far more powerful and seems to understand instinctively how to use them. He traced the bald man and Scudder.

Bald man shooting I must say was laugh out loud, very funny.

The revelation at the end that Justin was lusting over :o Sophie, the new maid :o shocking.

Other than Ben and Sampson it seemed that no-one else actually cared about Sophie's leaving.

Gripping stuff

The Russian dies (finally) and some of his blood (is it blue?) is absorbed into Bens knife. When Ben gathers his wits he finds that Scudder has fled the trailer, straight into Strouds waiting arms.

Ben tries to explain what happened to Sampson, who does not seem best pleased. It seems that management wanted Ben to kill him but knew that Ben would only do so to help his father. Ben then finds out Sophie is gone.

It seems, after a whirlwind romance, Jonesy and Libby went ahead and got married. I wonder how the in-laws will take it?

After all the attention paid to the Ferris Wheel this season, the disaster finally happens. One of the cars falls off and a child is killed, his mother badly injured. She begs god to take her life in place of her boy. Ben grants her wish with Sampson looking on. Sampson then decides he will help Ben to find Justin and save Scudder.

The last scene shows Justin looking lasciviously at the new maid. He controls his emotions and goes upstairs. The maid turns. It’s Sophie!!!!! I wasn't expecting that :o

That was quite a turning point when Sampson sees Ben healing the boy, his secret being out, and the look of wonder at Sampson's face :)

Sampson had always known there was something strange about Ben, but not what it was exactly. Now he does

  with a bit of :fear: too! More terrific stuff. Can this show get any better?

Loved the tooing and froing in the relationship between Ben and Samson. All the Justin scenes were scary... and what was with Norman almost getting to speak while Justin was having his episode.

The wheel tragedy was convenient, both from the point of view of Ben being able to show off his abilities, and also giving them a reason to make a quick getaway before the mob catches them.

What does Justin have in mind for Scudder I wonder? Can't be very nice. Justin's beardy friend with all the esoteric knowledge is a bit creepy too. I wonder what he wants with Scudder?

After what I was saying about Sophie turning up... well, I assumed she'd just turn up at the tent after hearing Justin on the radio. I never expected her to be the saucy maid cleaning the floor!

Love the imagery of the Russians blood being absorbed into the knife. Loved the Turin shroud imagery too... just who is the Russian, and now, who or what is Ben?

Can't believe there are so few episodes left. I'm really going to miss this show. Roll on the season 2 dvd release early in the New Year.

Andrew :yahoo:

Thing is, the Beeb put up $ for the Rome mini series as well so it wasn't as though it was THAT expensive.

Muppets.

It only gets better from here on in Andrew. Enjoy :)
