Title: Season 2, Damascus Ne
Description: Episode 19

laughitupfuzzball - April 24, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
Summary
Brother Justin is fitted for new suit, with Iris assisting. In a mirror, Justin catches the image of the Colossus Ferris wheel. Iris points out that there is an open seam in Justin's trousers. "That's how we fit a corpse," the tailor replies. "It's a funeral suit." The room darkens, and Iris's face is now a death mask; reaching down, she picks up a dagger and plunges it into Justin's crotch...

Justin wakes up from the dream shouting. Calming down, he notices the ambulance that pulls away from the house just as Bishop McNaughton arrives. "Our new maid," Iris tells the Bishop. "Bad case of nerves."

 Back to a fabulous episode

Anyone else who has seen it can you tell me what happens after Ben has stabbed Management, it stopped just as Management was trying to strangle Ben and Sampson realises he has been kept away.

Ben finally finds Scudder and, ew sulphuric acid wash. The way that people were drained by Ben's healing was quite dramatic, it seems in the case of revealing Scudder, Ben is no longer upset by hurting/killing others.

Oh and Alexi's name finally revealed, management's son, now that finally explains a lot.

Great episode

Pretty much the end of the episode. It picks back up at the beginning of Episode 20.

A flying visit I'm afraid. Still w**king through a few things.

Enjoy Carnivale, the season 2 finale's one of the best I've seen in years !!

Justin dream was really disturbing. The funeral suit. Iris wearing her death mask. The scissors!!! :fear:

Ben finally makes it to Damascus and has visions of a disfigured man. Who turns out to be his father, but he has burnt his face with Sulphuric Acid to hide. Ben finds him and heals him, draining the life force of everyone around, including Stroud.

Yuck mention to Justin’s projectile vomiting (What a day to lose the maid!) LOL

Ben takes Scudder back to the Carnivale. Scudder says the Russian wants to kill him but Ben vows to protect him. Sampson is kept otherwise occupied as Management and Scudders final confrontation takes place. It seems that Justin is the Russians son (D’Oh!! How did I not w**k that out already). He tries to kill Scudder but Ben stabs him to save his father. The Russian dies as the power fails all over the Carnivale. But he isn’t really dead (are they ever?) and as his hand closes about Ben’s throat the lights and power come back on and.........The End Noooooooooooo!!!!!! :fear: :fear:

Oh, and Jonesy and Libby finally get together

A bit late with this one... I had to rewatch the second half of the episode as so much was going on, I couldn't take it all in! Mrs Hovis is watching the show too, much to my surprise, and she missed most of it. So any excuse for second viewing.

Aha! It's all coming together now! Great stuff!

The Scudder sequences where he was trying to remove his face were scary, as was the bit when Ben healed him, not caring how much life he was draining from those around him. Not sure I particularly liked the effect it had on Justin, but the link between Justin and Ben seems to be getting stronger and stronger.

Libby and Jones getting together... Rita Mae won't like that! And Samson being kept away from Management when Ben and Scudder appear... interesting stuff!

No Sophie this week? I wonder where she's heading and when we'll see her again?

But the highlight of course was the confrontation between Scudder, Ben and The Russian. It was clear that Scudder was in grave danger, and Ben of course leapt in to protect him. What was the deal with the blue blood... euwwwww. I wasn't quite expecting the revelation that the Russian was Alexei/Justin's father, but I'm sure that won't be the last surprise in the show!

I recorded yesterday's episode, so am looking forward to watching that one when I get home from w**k.

Andrew :yahoo:

Good questions Andrew, although the more important one is 'where' she'll reappear......

Just guessing of course, but I'm wondering if I know the answer to that one! :ponder: I think we've had a few clues.
