Title: Season 2, The Road To Damascus
Description: Episode 18

laughitupfuzzball - April 24, 2005 09:16 AM (GMT)
Asleep in Lodz's trailer, Sofie rolls over to find a ghoulish bed partner: Inches from her face, Apollonia stares at her, her eyes wide with horror. Sofie jumps up and goes outside. The caravan is lining up to leave town.

Sofie takes a seat in Ben's truck, and as the Carnivale pulls away into the dark, she implores him to run away with her. "I can't," Ben tells her. "There's something I need to do, and it's that way."

A few good moments in this but on the whole it didn't intrigue me as much as the other episodes.

:o at Sophie leaving

and at Justin putting the blame on Dolan in the way he did :o

I was going to say that this was a slower episode than the preceding ones, and maybe it is, but only because there was no chases through the woods, or snakes trying to kill people. So much happened here, dangling threads woven together.

The Carnivale gets new blood.
Stumpy’s lies catch up with him and his family falls apart. He gets drunk and blames it all on Jonesy. They have a huge fight, which Jonesy comes out on top of.
Ben and Sophie finally give in to their growing feelings towards each other (despite Ben being told to leave her alone), and they make 'rain' ;) (and where was the gratuitous butt shot this time? :tear: )
Justin tricks Dolan and turns him in for Iris’ crime :o
Lodz seems to have possessed Ruthie (at least for a short time) and goes to Lila (sp?) asking about 'the boy' (Ben? Will he tell Lila that it was Ben that killed him?)
And Sophie leaves the Carnivale

Phew!

I think its because Stumpy and Rita Sue just get on my nerves so much at this point, to hell with the pair of them is what I say

I know what you mean, but where would the Carnivale be without their little 'dance' show

You guys are right.... it did feel a little slower. But a lot did actually happen, didn't it.

Sophie seeing Appolonia was scary, and seeing Ruthie posessed by Lodz freaked me out, even though we knew that one was coming.

Lol at Karen's comment about Sophie and Ben making rain! (Lucky Nick, filming that scene!)

I wasn't sure whether it was Justin that tricked Dolan, or whether it happened as a result of Iris's fervent and fevered prayer, but I guess I'll see on that one!

I know she'd been talking about it, but I was still surprised that Sophie left. I'd thought that after what happened with Ben, she'd have hung around. Is it any coincidence that she left after Justin's sermon came on the radio? Has she left to join Justins congregation?

Ben thinks he's one step ahead of the bald fellow (whose name escapes me), but he knows exactly what Ben is up to. And euwww at the dead Dailly brothers in the back of the car!

Those threads are gradually tying themselves together.... was a bit upset at FX putting spoilers for next weeks episode on again, over the credits, but it didnt give much away, more a teaser really.

Andrew :yahoo:

:ermm: I know what you mean about FX but it is nice to see them caring about the show enough to do that.

I think they have realised what a gem they have and they are going to make the most of it
