Title: "ignore Thread" Option

Cardelia - April 24, 2005 02:17 AM (GMT)
Is there a facility for ignoring threads on this board, and if not, could one be implemented? I have less than zero interest in (for example) the character quote threads on the Buffy board and I'd quite like it so that I could set the threads to be ignored. Basically, whenever I would come on and check for new posts, they wouldn't appear. I know I can just skim past them anyway, but it's just a handy little feature I've seen on some boards which makes catching up easier.

Try closing your eyes and pretending their  Ok I'm not just being a bitca but I don't understand why it bothers you? People are just offering their opinios thats what the board is all about  If it topic you don't like don't click on it.

David has a point buffy-fan. When you click on the active topic list and find over 60% of the threads are either quote type threads and polls from the Buffy forum, it does get a bit frustrating for the other posters here ;)

I notice the polls are also creeping into the Firefly forum

Sorry but there's no such option with Invisionfree boards, and as far as I know there's no scripts that could do it either.

Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind. ;)

Totally agree though, there does seem to be a lot of very similar topics and sometimes there are ones that are exactly the same.

I always thought a message board was a place to talk and discuss opinions, having a long list of quotes doesn't do either IMO.

Ok, if everyone can take a deep breath.....

All valid points but unfortunately there is no option to ignore threads so if you don't want to read them, don't :)

And if people could check before posting news threads to see if it's been posted in another part of the board it'd be much appreciated :)

Bill- re quote threads, it's just a bit of fun and they're expressing their opinion as to which quotes they think are the best :)

I know it can be annoying when you click on the active threads and it's full of Buffy threads but at the minute they are the most popular, the feature is there to make searching for threads easier but there isn't anything we can do about this so all you can do is grin and bare it or not use the feature :)

Closing the thread now because the question has been answered :)
