Title: Did Anyone Else Actually Like Lilah?

Maria - April 22, 2005 04:45 PM (GMT)
Apart from the fact that she tried to end the world several times, did anyone actually like her?

I thought she was a great charactor and :lmao: when her and the od guy that took Angels body were rolling around on the desk!

ant - April 22, 2005 05:33 PM (GMT)
I didn't mind her but I haven't seen all of season 4 and 5

Krazy - April 22, 2005 05:36 PM (GMT)

 I loved Lilah, she was a fabulous character, climbing the evil corporate ladder. :)

prophecy girl - April 22, 2005 08:24 PM (GMT)
no one will ever replace lylah (not even "lylah junior" , season five watcher will understand)

she was a great character, a little bitchy but she knew what she wanted and was ready for anything to get there. she had a few moments of weakness (kinda rare). i was expecting a better way to kill her (but at least they brought her back for one last mission :shifty:

Yay-For-Me - April 22, 2005 08:30 PM (GMT)
Lilah was a great character, hated her so much. :lmao:

prophecy girl - April 22, 2005 08:31 PM (GMT)
the character we love to hate ;)

Bill The Bloodless - April 22, 2005 09:34 PM (GMT)
Lilah was a great character from her introduction to her demise, which was a shame but as she lived a dangerous life it was completely acceptable.

Evil but utterly self serving, she was pretty much kept in character all the way through.

Laura - April 22, 2005 09:39 PM (GMT)
Lilah was great, I loved the interaction between her and Lindsey as they tried to get further up the career ladder.

Craig G - April 22, 2005 11:15 PM (GMT)
lilah did indeed rock. though i did like the little bits of the show that may have been showing us little bits of her character that dont usually show, like the phonecall with her mum, or the fact that lilah was able to feel human emotion, like love and jealosy because at first all she was was the snipey lawer with the quick one liner bitchy comments :)

It's weird. The first time I watched Angel (s1-4) all the way through I really disliked Lilah. For some reason she just irritated me. But I've rewatched twice since I first saw it and for some reason on the rewatch I all of a sudden really liked her. I'm not too sure what changed, but I just realised what a cool character she is. Evil and seemingly emotionless, but she sometimes lets a little bit of it show, like Craig said. :) I too loved the interaction between her and Lindsey in season 2 .

TV Yank - April 23, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
I liked Lilah because Stephanie Romanov played her. But, in the end, Lilah was a somewhat colorless villain. Stephanie is a decent actress but not good enuf to flesh out a character into someone who could distract my attention from her astounding beauty.

I loved the character of Lilah. I really did. I don't know why.

I mean in the first few seasons she was just a normal lawyer (who tried to kill people.)

But then you see the Wilah relationship and when Carpe Noctem comes you see that she would have gone all the way with Angel/old man from home.

I liked it when she came back at the end.

And no one can replace her and i quote Prophecy Girl when I say not even Lilah Junior could replace her.

You know Craig, I actually thought ther were going to make a storyline from that scene. I know it was there to show Lilah's softer side but it could have nbeen explored slightly. At least an episode. This would have given Lilah's charactor a bit of history, similar to what they did with Lyndsey.

Slight season five spoiler

slight season five spoiler

Hell YES I really liked Lilah and I think her absence from season 5 was one of the many problems with the 5th season in my opinion.

Spoiler end

Craig G - April 23, 2005 06:20 PM (GMT)
i second that here here

but yeah i thought that they were going to expand her storyline after that scene, maybe at that point they were, but as the story continued they abandoned it???

it would have been intresting to see what made lilah the woman she became, but it could have backfired and made her seem to human?

Mehitabel - April 24, 2005 06:33 PM (GMT)
OK- always liked her as an evil lawyer, but she really grew on me when Gavin appeared to be so smarmy and petty beside her (and provoking her to doing some quite goodish things). He was the s limiesy, even including characters who had actual slime.

prophecy girl - April 24, 2005 06:37 PM (GMT)
i preferred lylah vs lyndsay than lylah vs gavin (he didn't stand a chance against her)

The Gavin smirk is one of the creepiest things in series 4, though, even though he's a total buffoon and brown-noser.

prophecy girl - April 24, 2005 06:44 PM (GMT)
apart in the intro of billy ......................... oh my god ... i would have like to see him after lylah comment to angel about the fact that something happened to the one who beat her.

Mehitabel - April 24, 2005 06:46 PM (GMT)
Always thought that that was her bravado ("you should have seen the other bloke', sort of thing.) But yes, it would have been worth a look at Gavin puree.

I thought Gavi was at his creepiest when the neast killed him and he aly on the floor about to become a zombie :fear:

I loved it when Lilah asked Wesley will you think about me when I've gone and he replies I wasn't thinking about you while you were here. I think this is in Tomorrow.

In general Lilah and Lynsey were an interesting comment on what you need to be like to make it in the corporate world that is absolutely ruthless. Sometimes Angel reminded me a bit of Robocop with the corporate satire aspect. This shows the writers were interested in being Buffylike but in a more adult manner. sk

Lilah was a fantastic character. Evil, ambitious and yet most importantly human. Loved the rivalry with Lindsey and Gavin and all the corporate backstabbing at W&H. Liked the relationship with Angel and of course loved her and Wesley. She could also be wickedly funny as well. :)

prophecy girl - April 27, 2005 08:50 AM (GMT)
love when lylah ask gaving to think of who he is more afraid: her or a big beast and gavin run out to do what she ask

Mehitabel - April 27, 2005 04:23 PM (GMT)
It was the tiniest humanising clue that she cared for her ga-ga old mum that put the career-evil into a new perspective for me.
