Title: Charmed
Description: the end?

QUOTE
Talking to Sci Fi Wire.com, Charmed's executive producer, Brad Kern, said that the season seven finale could also be the last ever episode.

"The [WB] network loves Charmed creatively and have been especially happy with it this season," Kern said. "But whether we come back or not still all boils down to ratings - which means it's up to the fans. If they all tune in and watch the last couple of episodes, I believe that'll raise our numbers enough to push us over the edge and force The WB to pick us up for an eighth season."

The season seven finale, Something Wicca This Way Goes? includes a big surprise ending - just in case Charmed doesn't get renewed.

A decision is expected in May.

:ermm: would i be sad to see it go? .................. not really

prophecy girl - April 20, 2005 08:55 AM (GMT)
well we will definitly know in may

InsaneInTheBasement - April 20, 2005 10:05 AM (GMT)
Good to see Desperate Housewives on that list - but you knew it would be anyway
Surprised to see Joey - apparently the ratings were disappointing.

I only started watching Charmed recently - I'm watching the daily double-bill on Living TV - I think they're up to S4 at the moment, but I'm avoiding the more recent episodes on Thurs & Sat (Living TV), cos I'd get too confused... I don't manage to catch every episode as it is, and when I do watch it I always have to figure out whether Cole is good or evil - does he ever make his mind up? Anyway, I've enjoyed what I have seen up to now, been trying to get hold of S1, either to download or to get on DVD. What Season is Channel 5 showing on Saturdays?

I think Joey was always going to be renewed no matter what the ratings were like. NBC invested too much in it to give up after one season

Not sure what season of Charmed Five are currently showing, sorry  I did what you did and got all caught up on Living TV repeats when I first got Sky last year. I watched so many that I got sick of the show and now I can only watch season 7, I can't go back and watch the older ones

melian - April 20, 2005 01:34 PM (GMT)
Channel 5 are currently showing season 6 I think :D

I'm sure it's series five that they're showing :)

How many times does Channel five have to show the sixth and fifth series of Charmed?Anyway i hope there is a eigth series but none after that.

I have a feeling it's series 5 as well, Krazy. They showed season 6 in it's entirety and I think they've now gone back to repeats

I'll be quite happy to watch an eighth season but, depending on how good that is, I'd be ok with it ending after that as well :D

the audience has been going down and the writers have started to run out of t storylines. But it seems WB still have decided to renew the show for one more season. ;)

so is C5 showing buffy because it's a good show or because they are expecting a better audience (or it's just because of doctor who)

no idea.

But it's not the audience C5 is getting that decides Charmed's fate,it's the americans audience, that's the one that's low at the moment. ;)

prophecy girl - May 30, 2005 06:53 PM (GMT)
 good point

jamiearmour - June 3, 2005 12:23 PM (GMT)
C5 are showing Buffy to try and capitalise on the success of Charmed (it's one of their most popular shows you know?). Still being trounced by Dr Who, but unlike ITV, c5's ratings haven't been hit really hard. Seems that a lot of Buffy Fans are willing to watch repeats rather than new home made brilliance    :snooty:

TV Crazy - June 4, 2005 06:51 PM (GMT)
Where does it say that Charmed has been renewed for another season? I don't know where to look.

In my opinion Charmed went downhill a lot in S6, S7 got slightly better, but i think its run its course now and should end with S7.

Ems :)

If you're worried that i'm lying and it hasn't been renewed then you can google it and i'm sure you'll find the evidence you want.
I think S6 was also a weak season for the show, season 7 hasn't done much for the show but it was good enough for it to be given another season.
I watched the finale of the seventh series and i can't believe that it ended the way it did, very surprising but now i wonder what's going to happen.

Sorry I wasn't trying to accuse you of lying its just i read on another site that it wasn't going to get another season, and just wanted to know where you found out your info from. I looked it up on the wb website and it said there would be a S8.

I haven't seen the S7 finale yet, it's on tape with a load of other TV shows i need to catch up on, i'll let you know what i think.

Saturday nights are very important in british lives, that's the day when most people watch telly. So i'm guessing Charmed is such a big hit with people there going to start showing two episodes of Charmed and none of buffy.Plus it's all the hassle in buying the rights, but i think season one has been quite a hit with channel five viewers,it's definitely lured my cousins to the buffyverse.

goth willow fan - June 5, 2005 09:43 PM (GMT)
Saturday night has become a time when tv stations put any old cheap crap on because they expect nobody will be watching.

Thankfully five (and the beeb with Dr Who seems to have bucked that trend recently).

jamiearmour - June 6, 2005 12:24 AM (GMT)
Well here is one sites confirmation of an eighth season. I've found dozens like it.

QUOTE
Charmed Is Renewed!
The WB officially released their fall season schedules, and Charmed is once again on for Sunday nights.

So once again, thanks to all the fans who wrote in to the WB asking for "Charmed" to be renewed for another season! It is because all of you cared enough to fight for your favorite show and actor. Many thanks for your efforts!

We contacted Brad Kern for a comment to all the fans efforts in helping campaign to bring 'Charmed' back for another season. And this is what he had to say:

"The fact that we're coming back for an 8th season is absolutely a tribute to the loyal and continued support of our amazing fans.  We couldn't have done it without them."

Brad Kern
Executive Producer, "Charmed"

Returning for its eighth season, “Charmed, ” starring Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs, has been a success story for The WB from day one. Sure to shake things up for the Charmed Ones, actor and “Extra” host Mark McGrath will join the cast next season. "‘Charmed’ is appointment television for millions of fans who love the show's combination of danger and humor and have become attached to these three young women, ” said Mr. Janollari.

For some reason my pc won't let me look at the WB's fall schedule so I can't confirm it for myself. But every american fansite I've looked at confirms the same.
The above came from CHARMED ONES.COM
