Title: Viewing Figures
Number Six - April 17, 2005 03:45 PM (GMT)
According to BARB, who measure these things, "Rose" was the Beeb's second most popular programme in it's first week. Only Eastenders did better (though by only just over 1m which probably says more about Eastenders than anything else.)

I read that Ant & Dec beat Dr Who on Saturday. Will be interesting to see what happens with this week's viewing figures now that the Geordie duo are finished!

Actually, I'd expect this weeks rating to be low as well thanks to ITV's Celebrity Wrestling - while the show sounds like the biggest pile of crap ever broadcast there are going to be an awful lot of Lowest Common Denominator viewers who are going to be watching it....

Well I, for one, am thoroughly looking forward to it.....................NOT!! :lmao: I don't know when ITV decided that Saturday night was going to be Lowest Common Denominator night or whether it always has been and I just never noticed before but the idea that people will tune in to Celebrity Wrestling, ffs, and neglect Dr.Who is just baffling to me. In fact, the fact that people will tune into it, full stop, is an enigma :ph43r:

I think the Sun summed it up well when they said 'loads of young fit women all getting sweaty on top of each other - what's not to like?' :)
Sadly this means all the young chavs who are desperate to see the current in women all hot and sweaty with each other will all tune in :)

Yeah, but can sweaty leotard wearing z list celebs stand up to the power of "Dalek" next week? I think not :lmao:

Can't imagine that the knuckle draggers who would watch this drivel would be watching quality television anyway.

DOCTOR Who exterminated Celebrity Wrestling in the Saturday night ratings war.
The BBC sci-fi episode drew in an average 7.3 million viewers while ITV1’s new prime time offering managed just 3.8 million.
The Beeb’s Strictly Dance Fever, with 4.3 million, also trod on ITV1’s Hit Me Baby, with 2.6 million, while Hell’s Kitchen dipped to 3.7 million. |

And if the Beeb handle the publicity right for "Dalek" then not even the contestants of Celebrity Wrestling will be watching the show this week. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

It's such a great feeling that; despite some people suggesting that celebrity wrestling had a "novelty value" and would cause a dip in Dr Who's ratings it didn't
ITV: running out of ideas
