Title: Shanshu Prophecy

Krazy - April 15, 2005 08:12 PM (GMT)
It's a basic question about who do you think would deserve the shanshu prophecy which would make a vampire with a soul human :D . Does Angel deserve the propechy?Though the soul was forced on him because of the people he killed,he did spent a hundread years or so killing evil humans and then helping the helpless, facing many hardships during that time.Or do you think SPike deserves it more because he fought to get the soul and died to save the world but has only been fighting the good fight for 3 years or so. ;)

Okay that was my attempt to try and sound non-biased

My vote will be going to Angel because of the reasons stated above,it doesn't have anything to do with my dislike for Spike :whistling: :shifty:

Though maybe you might think that none of them deserve it <_<

definitly angel

if it had been spike, wolfran and hart would have make sure he was gonna be on their side, not trying to protect angel again and again (mentionned by client, eve/hamilton, vail and so on during season five)

Do you think think that Spike would have listened to Wolfram and Hart?

Yep i'm watching season five again at the moment and i realised how quickly Spike started to trust Lindsey or "Doyle"

i just wonder how did lyndsay knew about the attack of the girl (his first "vision") ... planned or just got lucky?

He had all that power from the symbols and stuff, plus he could've faked them, to win Spike over.

I voted for Angel

Angel...he's the original champ. :)

Krazy - April 16, 2005 07:50 PM (GMT)
I watched the episode Your Welcome and Lindsey did explain how he did some stuff with the help of his symbols so yeah i think that's how he knew about the girl.

Yay-For-Me - April 16, 2005 08:32 PM (GMT)
Has to be Angel :)

Childhood Trauma - April 17, 2005 02:05 PM (GMT)
I honestly think that Angel deserved it more, I mean he had spent a century as a souled vampire, apart from the odd times when he lost his soul.

And Spike may have helped avert the apocalypse and sacrificed himself, but Angel had saved the world more times.

Since season one we have been told it was Angel's prophecy so it seemed wrong that Spike should come along and take it away that was the annoying thing for me about season 5 - also Angel has done much more than Spike (has had more time).

prophecy girl - April 20, 2005 09:18 AM (GMT)
if the senior patners had thought spike could have been as good as angel, they would have killed angel ... but then spike had just saved the world so maybe angel was a better choice.

Entirely Pointy - April 21, 2005 02:21 PM (GMT)
angel definitly deserved it - and i was annoyed when spike beat him up and got to the cup goblet thing 1st even though it was fake. very upsetting!

do you think that if angel did die in the end killing the dragon and endless demons that he still would have been shanshued, as really he gave the ultimate sacrifice in signing it away and maybe the higher powers or whatever have more power than the senior partners to grant the shanshu anyway?

i think that may have made sense that was not

:p

Bill The Bloodless - April 21, 2005 05:01 PM (GMT)
At the time it was first mentioned I'd say the prophecy was definitely intended for Angel, if in the end and if it had gone that far it would have been Angel or Spike or some other ensouled vampire who knows.

However until one or the other atones for all the lives they have taken and all the horror that they have caused then neither of them deserve any reward. And as I don't think it's possible for them to atone then neither of them deserve the Shanshu.

Did he? By my reckoning, apart from a couple of isolated incidents (afterthoughts), it was at the most ten years.

Angel.

Craig G - May 23, 2005 02:46 PM (GMT)
well the shanshu is destined to be one vampure, but the prophecy itself is too vauge to determine whether it would be spike or angel.

My guessing is that it is for neither of them.

ok, ok it is always said that a vampire with a sould is a total rarity. But in only 6 years we were introduced to 2 vampires who had one. So who is to say that what we have been told is true and that it may be more common than previously thought
?

maybe there are more vampires with souls that the buffyverse has shown us And the prophecy is talking about them???

however if it had to be between spike and angel, i would say Angel deserves it more, however spike fits the category more (fought in that apocalyptic battle)

so my vote goes to angel
