Same here. I don't think Sam Jones is a particularly good actor either, which didn't help.

Thank God he's gone is all I can say! He was a crap under developed character that the writers didn't know what to do with. I personally think they just thought "let's make Clarke's friend 'a black guy' to appeal to people of ethnic backgrounds" without actually giving any thought to what they're going to use him for.
If you ask me the only important characters outside of Clarke to the series are Lex and Chloe... oh and of course Martha and Jonathan Kent. I think everybody else's expendable although I would keep Lex's father Lionel if they can keep good storylines for him?

Smallville is a small town in the mid-west of America. The demographics of such towns are mainly whites, so that's not really surprising is it? :)
I'd expect more latinos in Sunnydale, but again I'm not surprised by the lack of black people.

Pete Ross is scheduled to come back this season. He was supposed to come back mind-way through the season, but he couldn't because he was busy filming something else. So no doubt the writers will find another way for him to return.
