Title: Angel Vs Buffy
Description: Group leader

Which did you think made a better group leader?

Buffy was more of a mate to the scoobies but eventually (season 7) became more like a general. Angel always seemed to me more like a leader or employee.

Season 2 he fires them all and in season 7 Buffy gets overthrown. They both tend to push away the members of their respective groups but who do you think was a better leader?

I am still undecided.

I think I'd say Angel.

He didn't necessarily want to be a leader but was naturally so and by season 5 wanted to be one. Buffy on the other hand was good at being a leader but was uncomfortable in the role for years and was happy to give it up. (after Chosen I mean)

Thats the best explanation for my answer I can come up with :)

I also think Angel made the better leader. For some reason the fact that he chose to do the w**k he does, whereas it was put upon Buffy makes me prefer him as a leader. As Alex said, Buffy was very uncomfortable early on & tended to complain about it a lot, whereas Angel was a very natural leader and just got on with it. You also have to kind of respect the fact that after his whole "dark" period in season 2 of Angel he stepped down as leader and gave the job to Wes. But he eventually becomes the leader again as it's a position that suits him.

Or something like that ;)

better leader????

its a difficult one, they both have had similar roles as leaders throughout each show.

both have had to make difficult descisions and personal sacrafices

But throughout the first few years of BtVS, buffy wasnt technically the leader, just the muscle. Giles was the leader, but after season 5 Buffy was the obvious leader and spent the first year in an emotional ditch and the second year as an 'army general'

where as angel was the leader of his bunch from the get go.

I would say. . . neither of them (or at least each as bad/good as each other)

Part of the appeal of these characters is that they are not the 'picture perfect' leaders of a starfleet spaceship, these are characters with flaws and make mistakes. The audience know this, and even the characters know it.

making sense???

Makes perfect sense I think this is why I can't choose!

I'll go with Angel as being the better leader because it wasn't a social activity that Angel investigations did but more like a job,so it that way it was his duty so he was more commanding and pushy then Buffy  Okay i'll stop writing now

Angel. his last speech to his group members was a lot more rallying.

'Let's get to w**k'

:tear:

'Are You Ready to be Chosen?'

I think Angel was because he considered his associates feelings. (Talking about season 7 Buffy here.) Wherein Buffy just gave orders.

mhhh kinda explain why wesley end up leader of the team in season two/three :wox:

i would choose buffy, she was in charge longer before someone decide she was not good at it

angel: when i was in charge, noone argue about my leading or my singing

cordie: you are half right :lmao:

The main reason Buffy wasn't overthrown sooner was because she was the slayer and therefore automatically the leader. If anyone were ever to disagree with her or challenge her position she could technically just say "I'm the slayer" and in that way she's automatically the leader. With Angel they were all the same (apart from Angel beind dead and much stronger ;)) and so the position of leader was more something that was earnt/actually deserved than just given to you.

That made little sense   :D

Nope it made perfect sense.

I hate the episode Damage when Andrew tells Angel, Buffy doesn't trust him.And he says that the slayers are part of their team, like it's no longer one team.
