For years I found this episode to be in the pits of Season 3 -- with only Grey 17 is Missing worse than it.
However, I'm not sure whether it was just me being in the right mood, but I rather liked it - especially the scene with Franklin and 'Arthur', where he realises who he is, and gets all the Battle of the Line flashbacks.
Plus the Garibaldi vs the Post Office B-story is superb :D
I know what you mean, this ep seems to veer violently between cringe worthy badness and the odd flash of a decent story trying to break through somewhere.
Garibaldi's battle with the postal service worker is great fun though
I didn't think it was too bad, it had a certain charm. Of course, Michael Yorke wasn't particularly convincing, as per usual.
I liked the scene where "Arthur" knights Sir G'kar.
And yes, the post office scenes with Garibaldi were funny. You just knew he'd come out on top though. ;)
A certain charm is how I'd describe it as well. I thought the scenes with G'Kar were excellent (particularly liked the joke about the Green Knight). I also started to idly wonder where you would pick up a sword and full suit of chain mail in the 23rd century and carry it on a transport. Damn that red wine.
