First Brother Justin and then Ben enter a nighttime diner and sit at the counter, silent and staring straight ahead. Then the two men from Ben's previous dreams enter and share a table, one decked out in evening clothes and the other dressed in his WWI uniform. Ben and Justin watch the men start into their steak dinners, and as they clink their glasses in a toast, all the windows of the diner shatter and Ben and Justin both wake with a start from their shared nightmare...

 There is so much going on in this one, many strange and disturbing things.
Firstly the opening sequence is superb, loved Ben and Justin sharing the same dream in the diner watching Scudder, what is that all about I can't wait to learn.
Jonesy sending Ben out to clean the baggage trailer, intended as a joke as it doesn't exist only to Ben it does, he finds it, finds a Gentlemans suit and a picture of his mother in her youth in the same case. Why did he not open the door again though when it slammed shut instead of using the lighter, if it were me I would have been straight out of there.
The preacher story gets really interesting with Justin showing the owner of Chins his true nature :ermm: the result he gets his new church and later flagilates himself as Templeton commits suicide.
Its a little like Stephen King with the good against evil themes. Why does the Preacher Justin suddenly get thse abilities, is it God or something else.
We also have Sophie's mother who in her comatose state can speak to Sophie and also seems able to see things beyond now who insists on speaking to Ben. She is able to walk to him in the night and says "You are the one" and then collapses leaving everyone to assume that Ben carried her there.
Its getting weirder, more intriguing and utterly brilliant

Wow! Stunning!
From that intriguing teaser right through to the final credits. I've only seen two episodes, but am already loving the show. Brilliant performances all through, and so much mystery too.
The scene where Justin appeared in Chin's with Templeton was so disturbing. Was it showing something that had happened, or just a reflection of Templeton's desires? Justin is quite clearly subject to some dodgy thoughts too, and we've seen some thought provoking things relating to him already.
The Carnevale scenes were all incredible too... the baggage truck, the photo, Sophie's mother. And just what is the connection between Ben and the woman he's so clearly attracted too? (Can't remember her name, sorry!)
Fortunately, I have disc two waiting for me, but I have other stuff to watch before I get round to it, but boy, am I looking forward to it!

ps... where have we seen the girl that plays Sophie before? She looks sooo familiar.

Thanks! I knew I'd seen her before somewhere, even if she was invisible most of the time!
And yes, she is very pretty, even through the griminess of this show!

love the dreamy scene at the start  , love the woman at the bar telling the priest the exact same thing she said in the dream
lot of stuffs going around, i think ben will probably investigate the management, i am surprised that after the weird things going on, he didn't already left or the photo of his mother made him want to stay a little while longer to understand.
so the carnivale going to south even knowing that things aren't going to go well, they better explain that one :ponder:
definitly worth to watch
