Title: Conviction

Krazy - April 5, 2005 08:03 PM (GMT)
I watched the episode Conviction this afternoon and hadn't realised it had been so long since i last saw it ;) What can i say,it has a good start from Angel when he saves the woman with his help the helpless thing. The good part is in fact when we get to the rest of the gang and their new offices, not forgetting their collegues.Fred and Wesley do seem to have alot of tension in the air and Knox doesn't seem to help it. My personal favorite bit is when Angel finds out that Harmony is his secutary and when HArmony goes all sad when she finds out Cordelia is in a coma  thought her sadness doesn't last long.I liked what Cordy described Eve as:the new Lilah  Still don't think that the lawyer thing suited Gunn but at least his character wasn't wasted. Line of the episode is in the court room "The ice is melting consuller"(the judge)"The defence admits it knows how to swim"(Gunn)That line just cracks me up :lmao: Another funny scence is between Angel and Spank, when Angel comments he doesn't mind spanking men  The episode was more exciting to watch the time when it aired but i preferr it now.Oh yeah cool ending with SPike coming back and all.

After the brief :whistling: description, your thoughts on the episode? :D

I thought it was quite a good episode, a nice introduction to the new Wolfram and Hart setting. My favourite part of the episode was this:

WESLEY
Well, I'm still stuck back at, "Why on earth are we here?"

FRED
What, because we're crusaders against evil and now the law firm that represents most of the evil in the world has given us its L.A. branch to run however we want, probably in an attempt to corrupt, divide, or destroy us, and we all said yes in, like, 3 minutes?

WESLEY
(breathes deeply, then nods)
Your run-on sentences have got a lot less pointless.

FRED
Oh, that's so sweet. And a tad condescending.

Awww, I love Fred and her run-on sentences!

 I really like this one. The opening is great, Angel saving the girl and then the squad back up team arrive.

Nice introductions with the crew weighing the place off

HARMONY
Don't let's quibble. Before anything, just think—I'm strong, I'm quick, I'm incredibly sycophantic—if that means what that guy said—and I type like a superhero...if there was a superhero whose power was typing. And, hey, we keep the same hours. Creatures of the night...(holds her fist up) unite.
(hands him his mug again)
How do you like your blood?

Fred comes into her own now she has resources and far more confident.

Nice story with tension about the germ bomb and great ending to it

        HAUSER
That's exactly what you are. You're minuscule. A dust mote on the shelf of that great institution. Now, you think I'm just a trigger-happy jerk who follows orders, but I am something you will never be. I'm pure. I believe in evil. You and your friends, you're conflicted. You're confused. We're not. That is why you are gonna lose, because we possess the most powerful thing in the world... conviction.

        ANGEL
There is one thing more powerful than conviction. Just one. Mercy.

Angel kicks Hauser in the chest, forcing the shotgun to point at Hauser's head. A gunshot sounds, and Hauser and his gun fall to the floor. A bloody splatter covers the wall where Hauser's head used to be.

        AGENT
        What happened to mercy?

        ANGEL
        (walking out)
You just saw the last of it.

Great opener

Some nice touches with the assortment of cars Angel now has, and Gunn's mysterious card and then the visit to the Doctor for his enhancement ( a little bit out of character however).

Only watched season four on sky recently so missed the last episode as sky didn't show it. :(

As I couldn't wait I brought season five on DVD. Loved the first episode, thought it was very funny :lmao: I didn't feel like I had missed Home as everything was explained.

Thought the way Spike was brought back was brilliant

I liked the fact that season five opener kind of summed Home the episode up.
