Title: Tru Calling
Description: Airing the unaired

TV Yank - April 1, 2005 03:25 AM (GMT)
The first two of the six new episodes of TRU CALLING will begin in 35 minutes. Have any of you seen them yet?

I'll be able to watch (as I record) the first hour, but I'll have to switch to watching CSI while I record the second hour. Tricky. :toomuchtv:

I've got all six, but I'm left wondering to myself, why bother ?? :(

TV Yank - April 1, 2005 05:13 PM (GMT)
Same old goodness.

For most of the first season, Tru fought with small-d death. Now she's fighting with Death as personified by Jack. I don't particularly like that. It's too obvious a competition. A race. BUT....it didn't hurt these two episodes. Both were very watchable. As was Eliza (of course). I liked the second one better because the plot was more involved and Jack appeared less, and very effectively when he showed up.

Ratings were poor, which was to be expected due to the competition. If i read the numbers correct, the overnites still placed it higher than POINT PLEASANT. We'll see when the finals come in.

That'll be 3 of the last 6 that I haven't seen. Oh well. It'll probably be out on Region 1 DVD sometime. I wasn't a big enuf fan to stress over missing the show. It was light entertainment at best.

For those who missed it first time round, Tru Calling will be airing on the new Sky 3 channel which will also be available FTA :D

It was definitely a slow starter. I watched the first couple of episodes and then actually stopped for a while cos it wasn't really grabbing me. I got back into it around episode 7/8 and it was brilliant from then on. Just got better and better

I totally agree with you is was a very slow starter, I stuck with it cos I'm big Eliza Dushku fan but it does get a lot better the finale was really good. Are Sky planning to show the 6 episodes that they made of season 2 I still haven't seen them yet as I can't afford the DVD box set at the moment :( Is there any word on when when they are due to start showing them?

I wish the US Networks would give progammes time to grow Fox said it's rating weren't high enough and then replaced it with Point Pleasent enough said. If Tru Calling had started with a more exciting start, it might still be on our screens.

I don't know whether they'll show the 6 episodes from season 2 but my gut reaction would be no :( I think they're just repeating the shows they already have (Tru Calling, 24 etc) so I doubt they'd buy in the new episodes. But we can live in hope :D

Buy the new episodes there's only 6 of them and Fox cancelled it how expensive can they be  One thing that annoys me is on The DVD box set is says the complete series, season 1 & 2 how can they call 6 episodes a complete season

OK, I'm in a quandry and need advice/opinions. I've just finished watching the re-run of Tru Calling on Sky3 and really enjoyed it again. I'm tempted to buy the dvd to see the final 6 episodes but £22.99 (at Play) seems a bit steep for the sake of watching 6 episodes :( I'm prepared to do it if the 6 episodes are good and carry on the quality that the show left off at in season 1 but if it all went a bit pants then I won't bother.

For those who saw the final 6, what did you think?

Well what you have to remember it's not an extra 6 episodes there are extras and a lot deleted scenes to watch. If your a big fan I would recormend it. Plus you get to watch the episode without adverts. At £23 I think it is great value but that just my opinion. :)

I've started a rewatch thread I know there isn't much there at the moment which my fault. You can write about any episode in any order just add stuff whenever.

Does anyone know what happen to the rewatch on Sky One?

Outta Sight - April 13, 2006 08:53 AM (GMT)
Thanks, Joe :D I hadn't thought about the extras  so that's swaying me in the general direction of buying it

In that case my w**k here is done  There are a LOT of deleted scenes to watch!

The rewatch on Sky One is back in a week or so, check Radio Times for the exact date - i'm guessing they stopped for Easter oslt, cos Angel has stopped its rerun and starts again after Easter as well.

Ems :)

Glad i could help, it was a mystery to me as well.

Also i have the box set, and would recommend it. Haven't seen the new eps yet, i decided to remind myself of the earlier ones first. The extras are ok, but i haven't watched all of them, although with some of the deleted scenes, you can see why they were deleted.

Ems :)
