Title: Angel 5.20
Persephone - May 25, 2004 09:39 PM (GMT)
The Girl In Question
It must be some apocolapyse coming. Shouldn't the Fang Gang be concentrating on how to stop it instead of speeding off to Italy. how could Angel not know there was a W&H office in Rome, don't they get the newsletters
I'm disappointed, I'm not an anti season 5 but this seemed kind of a waste of the precious episodes left. Why bother dealing with the Buffy issue anyway, esp without an appearance by SMG. I want to see the senior partners
There were a few funny moments granted, ace to see Dru and Darla. Andrew being there was, okay needed by the writers to explain the lack of Buffy, but still very annoying.
My jaw did drop at Illyria's little impersonation of Fred, the only tenseness in the whole episode. I'm gonna stop now, if you can't say anything good, say nothing.
Overall, not brilliant
Bad Drew

This episode really annoyed me...we have no idea (i'm pretending i don't know the ending :P) how the series will end, we have yet to be introduced to what the apocolypse is gonna be...and they make 'em bugger off to Italy!?! <_<
I could've done without finding out how the whole Buffy/Angel saga ended (even though i'm still living in hope they get together in one of the TVmovies  ) and i just don't see the point of having this episode right at the end of the season??? It follows no pattern with the previous episodes and has no relevance to the final two?
Although the two main highlights of the episode were Illyria and the Italian CEO of Wolfram and Hart

I kinda like the whole Angel/Spike bits this season, they bounce off each other real well, but I agree with you two about this being a wasted episode.
And I also wanted to know more about why Angel went all sorta evil at the end of last weeks episode. It was breifly mentioned at the start but then he was back to normal.
And Illyria doing Fred? shudder It was so creepy the way she went from sweet and kooky Fred to scary and eerie Illyria in seconds, just by the change in stance, head movements and the voice. Poor Wes. Poor Freds parents. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, AA is fantastic this season!!
BTW - great av Loobi!!!

May I add just how much I'm enjoying both of your avatars, must change mine ;)

The only interest for me in the ep was the Fred/Illyria & Wes situation.
The slapstick getting blown up / “they do that to foreigners the first time” left me a bit cold.
“One more step and the head gets it” and “Time for another penny ride ?” made me smile though.

That and the bit at the end where they are discussing maybe trying to lock Buffy up in a box! Made me giggle :D

Angel: I don't think she'd let us, she's pretty strong.

This episode left me cold. Definitely not one I'll be watching over and over again. The humour seemed force - we know Angel can do humour and it is funny when it is subtle, this was just awkward and in your face.
The episode made Spike and Angel come across all bubmling and clumsy.
Agre with you guys on why a valuable hour was spent on this

I agree with you all - this was back to the kind of waste of an episode that was happening at the beginning of the season. And note to the producers: if you're gonna have them see Buffy, even from behind, get someone who is at least vaguely the same shape as SMG to do the dancing!!
Oh, and if you're gonna keep mentioning Nina, let's actually see her, pretty please. Not happy <_<

Be careful what you wish for...... :)
I liked Nina a lot. Thought she was perfect for Angel.

I thought this episode was hilarious, I agree that it wasn't really the time for an episode like this and they could've used it to build up to the finale but I still liked it. :)
