Okay so we've had the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Harry Potter, comic book heroes, and every novel on the planet by Stephen King turned into films. So what have you read that you are convinced would make a good film?
My personal choice are the Necroscope series of books by Brian Lumley. It deals with a young man, Harry Keogh, who discovers early on in life that he has a unique gift. He can talk to the dead. During school he is spotted by Special Branch, an unknown government department that specialises in other wordly unmentionables, otherwise known as Wamphyri, by using their own special talents such as telepathy, ESP etc. During his time there, he will lose his life, become incorporeal, take over the body of a newly dead colleague, have a son that he loses to the Vampire world of Starside, battle vampires mentally and physically, discover time travel through the Mobius strip, go into Starside to find his son is not only a necroscope but has also become a werewolf. meet gypsies trying to save their clans from the vampires tithes, and avenge the murder of his mother.
If you like government conspiracies and cover ups, vampires, time travel, ESP and other worlds, it should be right up your street.
Any of Jonathon Kellerman's books :)
The last one i read by him was ''Blood Test'' and would make an excellent film :)
'Family disputes are a cop's most dreaded calls, for they are the most likely to erupt into violence that is murderously sudden, stunningly intense...'
Little Woody Swope was gravely ill. Treatment was possibly, if painful, but his parents, members of a bizarre sect called the Touchers, threatened to take him out of hospital.
Then Woody was gone. So were the Swope's leaving their motel suite heavily blood stained.
Enter Alex Delaware, child psychologist, young, burned out and semi-retired. He and his LA co friend Milo find heap of suspects- an ageing ex-hippy doctor; a back country police chief; a male stripper; even Nona, Woody's sister, a flame haired Lolita with hate in her eyes and larceny in her soul.
But the truth was more bizarre then even Alex could have imaged.
The majority of JK's book feature the character Alex Delaware and they would all make a great series of films that would keep the audience on the edges of their seats :)

Oh, the Anita Blake series by Laurell K hamilton would make great films. And it's fun to try and think which actors could play which characters!!
And, not EVERY Stephen King book has become a film, they still haven't touched the Dark Tower series, which I hope they never do. After the horror that was The Stand, I think they should leave well enough alone!!!
