Title: 1x01 "truth Be Told"

Jae - March 19, 2005 02:30 PM (GMT)
Grad student Sydney Bristow discovers that her unique after-school job as an agent for SD-6, a top-secret division of the CIA, holds some deadly secrets that threaten the security of the free world.

Recruited freshman year, the shy Sydney jumped at the chance to add some excitement to her life. Little did she know how great she'd be at espionage. Today Sydney is no longer shy or alone. Boyfriend Danny has just proposed and her best friend Francie couldn't be happier. Her friend Will, however, has to feign happiness, keeping his unrequited love for her to himself.

Sydney's SD-6 partner, Dixon, a devoted family man, warns her not to reveal her secret to Danny, and Sydney knows that SD-6 leader Sloane would not tolerate a breach of security. Even Marshall, SD-6's highly inventive but socially lacking weapons and gadget maker knows that divulging their identities is strictly verboten.

After Sydney tells Danny, he's murdered and her life is spun sideways. She finds that her estranged father, Jack, is also SD-6 and that the group is not part of the CIA, but actually an enemy of the United States. Sydney seeks the aid of the real CIA and is put under the command of operations officer Vaughn, who enlists her as a double agent. Her mission is to complete her cases at SD-6 while reporting her findings back to the CIA. But when Sydney finds out that her father is also affiliated with the CIA, she begins to question where his true allegiances really lie.

:lmao: WOW !!

Watched it last night ; I hadn`t seen it for ages, and I`d forgotten how good it is, the whole cinematic experience.

Loved how much mystery there was, and the whole twisty-turny shock revelations, particularly about Jack. :o

Me too! I almost wish I was watching it for the first time without knowing what happens later on.

Seeing this again recently I realised just how much of the ongoing storyline was set up in the pilot.

Me, too! Plus, I noticed how well developed most people`s characters were ; there was none of that ` Who`s that person again ? ` when you were watching.

I’ve decided I’ll try and do this rewatch, but there is a strong chance that I’ll fall behind.
This is a very strong pilot, it kept me hooked throughout and made me want to learn more about Sydney. I love our introduction to Jack when Danny phones him to ask permission to marry Sydney “Welcome to the family”. And Danny asking Sydney to marry him by singing badly in public, aww and also .
Evil Sloane for killing Danny, but why did Syd go straight to the bathroom? Could she see something through the door, cos the bathroom wouldn’t be the first place that I would look after finding my house looking like that .
EMETIB – reverse it . :fear: to the teeth extraction though :x.
Our first introduction to Vaughn  and Weiss (I love Weiss, he’s great).
I love the use of music in this pilot, it fits the mood perfectly.

Great episode. I think the fact that I've now seen it three times in the last month and still enjoyed it really shows how good it is. Wasn't bored for a second! I absolutely love the introduction we get to Jack "welcome to the family", he's the most brilliant character. And then Sydney's wtf face when Jack rolls up in the car with a gun! As people have said, so much is set up in this episode, and I didn't really notice any of that before, as the last two times I saw this, I hadn't seen much past the first few episodes. But after having seen a bit further on, it becomes evident how much they had thought foward and planned for a long time. A great start
