Title: NEXT GEN SERIES 3

On the bbc board and here I have suggested that the current season of ENTERPRISE has been the best season 3 of any of the TREKS.

Lets have a look at Next Gen, surely the only series that could be better (I am told DS9 didnt come into its own until season 4 at least) and see what episodes were in season 3:

THE ENSIGNS OF COMMAND
EVOLUTION
THE SURVIVORS
WHO WATCHES THE WATCHES
THE BONDING
BOOBY TRAP
THE ENEMY
THE PRICE
THE VENGEANCE FACTOR
THE DEFECTOR
THE HUNTED
THE HIGH GROUND
DEJA Q
A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE
YESTERDAY'S ENTERPRISE
THE OFFSPRING
SINS OF THE FATHER
ALLEGIANCE
CAPTAIN'S HOLIDAY
TIN MAN
HOLLOW PERSUIT
THE MOST TOYS
SAREK
MENAGE A TROI
TRANSFIGURATIONS
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS PART 1

Now there are certain some classics amongst these and the finale is the best end episode ever but I think it is the following season where NEXT GEN really becomes almost a classic every episode.

SO is ENTERPRISE season 3 the best - you decide??

TNG S3 Classics:

Who Watches the Watchers
The Defector
Yesterday's Enterprise
The Offspring
Sarek
The Best of Both Worlds

ENT S3 Classics:

Twilight
Similitude
Azati Prime
Countdown
Zero Hour

On that front it's probably too close to call. It's the average episodes where TNG outscores Enterprise.

Of that list there's only really "The Most Toys" that I don't really care for. Enterprise has still had a few sub-par episodes this season, headed by the ultra-woeful (IMO) Extinction.

It's close, but TNG still does it for me.

I loved the third season of Next Gen, but I think the fourth year was when it was at its most inventive.

Season 5 was pretty good as well.

Let's not forget THE INNER LIGHT.

I am not denying that season 4 onwards were excellent infact ANYTHING would have a hard job competing withwhat NEXT GEN did from BEST OF BOTH WORLDS onwards...

Who Watches the Watches Not one of my personal favourites but a good episode.

The Defector ditto

Yesterdays Enterprise a classic - goes without saying

Sarek very enjoyable episode never get tired of seeing it

The best of both worlds words can not express how wonderful this is.

Season 3 was definately an improvement on the second one with only episodes like THE MOST TOYS and Menage a troi really spoiling it and even then the later is funny to watch in places.

But for some reason ENTERPRISE SEASON 3 seems better, maybe it is just because I have only just watched it I dont know, one thing I do know is they are going to have to make just as big an improvement to top NEXT GEN season 4!!!

Yes, and my favourite episode, Darmok, and Cause and Effect. Then season 6 had Ship In A Bottle and Tapestry.
